Vedanta’s Nand Ghar has expanded to 15,000 centres across 18 states and 76 districts, benefiting over five lakh children and four lakh women.
NEW DELHI (India CSR): In another significant step towards building a Viksit Bharat 2047, Nand Ghar, Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative under the Anil Agarwal Foundation, has reached the milestone of 15,000 centres across 18 states and 76 districts in India.
The achievement marks a rapid acceleration in the programme’s national expansion. After crossing the landmark of 10,000 Nand Ghars in November 2025, the initiative has added another 5,000 centres in just eight months. Over the past year, Nand Ghar has further expanded into newer states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar, strengthening India’s Anganwadi ecosystem through one of the country’s largest public-private partnerships.

Each Nand Ghar is a modern, technology-enabled Anganwadi offering integrated services in early childhood education, nutrition, primary healthcare, clean water, sanitation and women’s skill development. The initiative closely aligns with the Government of India’s vision under Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0, complementing national efforts to improve child development, nutrition and women’s empowerment.
The programme’s impact is reflected in stories like that of Anju Dubey, an Anganwadi Worker at the Nand Ghar in Khojwa, Uttar Pradesh. Through interactive teaching, personalised attention and strong community engagement, she has helped transform the centre into a vibrant learning space, enabling children like Tanveer to gain confidence while encouraging families to actively participate, demonstrating how committed frontline workers bring the Nand Ghar model to life.
The programme’s rapid expansion has been driven by close collaboration with central and state governments, district administrations, Anganwadi workers and local communities. By upgrading existing Anganwadi centres into modern Nand Ghars, the initiative is strengthening grassroots service delivery while responding to the unique needs of every community it serves.
With 15,000 centres now operational, Nand Ghar will continue its momentum towards expanding access to quality nutrition, education, healthcare and livelihood opportunities for millions more women and children across rural India.
Nand Ghar, a flagship project under the Anil Agarwal Foundation, is modernising India’s Anganwadi ecosystem to empower women and children.
