Maharashtra’s First LGBTQIA+ Operated Food Truck Launched by TREEI Foundation and Imerys Group
MUMBAI (India CSR): In a groundbreaking move, TREEI Foundation, in collaboration with Imerys Group under its CSR initiative, launched “The Third Wheel”, Maharashtra’s first food truck operated entirely by members of the LGBTQIA+ community. This initiative aims to provide employment opportunities, nurture entrepreneurship, and challenge societal norms while fostering inclusivity, the company informed.
Key Launch Highlights
The food truck was handed over to Tritiyapanth Samajik Vikas Sansthan, Aurangabad. Social reformer Baba Adhav praised the initiative, calling it a revolutionary step toward empowering marginalized communities. The event also saw participation from social leaders like Ramesh Awasthi from Masum Foundation, writer Tamanna Inamdar, and LGBTQIA+ community members.

Tanveer Inamdar, Executive Director of TREEI Foundation, emphasized, “‘The Third Wheel’ combines entrepreneurship, empowerment, and inclusivity, giving the LGBTQIA+ community a chance to lead dignified, independent lives. The food truck embodies the “Table for All” philosophy, creating a space where diversity is celebrated. Equipped with a fully operational kitchen, tools, training, and startup support, it offers a sustainable livelihood for its operators while prioritizing hygiene and quality.

Launching in Aurangabad within 20 days, “The Third Wheel” aims to serve as a scalable model for similar ventures nationwide, driving inclusive progress and inspiring social change.
