BHUBANESWAR, ODISHA (India CSR): In a significant step towards fostering workforce excellence, Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) has partnered with C V Raman Global University (CGU), Odisha, to enhance employee skills under its “Dakshata” initiative. The collaboration aligns with Naveen Jindal’s vision of strengthening India’s skill ecosystem and preparing a future-ready workforce.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director in Charge (Angul) of JSP, and Dr. G. Sridevi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of CGU, in the presence of key officials from both organizations. The partnership will focus on upskilling employees in welding, fabrication, industrial automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Key Focus Areas of the Collaboration
The joint initiative will leverage the Naveen Jindal Skill Centre at JSP’s Angul facility and CGU’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) to deliver specialized training programs. The curriculum will cover:
- Industrial Automation: PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Advanced Manufacturing: High-precision welding, machining, simulation, and modeling
- Core Trade Skills: Electrician, fabrication, and other emerging industry-relevant competencies
This structured approach ensures that both new hires and existing employees, including executives and contract workers, are equipped with cutting-edge skills to meet evolving industrial demands.
Driving Workforce Excellence and Operational Efficiency
Speaking at the MoU signing, Pankaj Malhan emphasized the initiative’s role in boosting workforce productivity and operational efficiency.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to nurturing a skilled talent pool that meets global industry standards. By integrating advanced training methodologies, we aim to enhance both individual competencies and organizational performance,” he said.
The program is expected to play a pivotal role in reducing skill gaps, improving employability, and supporting India’s ‘Skill India Mission’.
