GURUGRAM (India CSR): Marking International Youth Day 2025, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reaffirms its enduring commitment to empowering the youth of India. Driven by a future-focused, multi-dimensional approach, HMIL through the initiatives of its CSR arm, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), continues to shape a generation ready to lead with purpose, progress and resilience across key pillars such as education, healthcare, art, sports and skill development.

Speaking on the importance of empowering youth, Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head, Corporate Affairs, Corporate Communication & Social, HMIL, said, “At Hyundai Motor India Foundation, our vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’ guides every initiative we undertake. We believe in the potential of India’s youth as the architects of tomorrow, and are deeply invested in building an inclusive, future-ready ecosystem that nurtures their aspirations. From classrooms to careers, and from sports fields to art studios, Hyundai is walking with youth every step of the way. Notably, over 56% of the 20.1 lakh+ beneficiaries of the initiatives undertaken by HMIF in FY 2024-25, fall within the 13-35 age group, reflecting its sustained commitment to empowering young changemakers across the nation.”

Education & Academics: Bridging the Opportunity Gap

Vidya Vahini Project:

Transforming access to science education through mobile laboratories and interactive learning, the initiative has reached 1.6 lakh students across 14 districts in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, aligned with India’s National Education Policy.

Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program:

The Program disbursed scholarships worth INR 3.38 crore to 783 students from underprivileged socio-economic backgrounds.

These young minds included 440 aspirants preparing for the Union and State Civil Services examinations and the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), along with 343 students representing 100 different teams from various Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campuses, working on innovative projects with potential impact on society and environment.

Healthcare: Prioritizing Adolescent Well-being

Sparsh Sanjeevani Telemedicine Centres:

Offering vital healthcare services and enhancing connection between healthcare providers and underserved communities in rural and remote areas across the country, this initiative sees an average of 32.6% of its beneficiaries in the 13–35 age group, directly addressing adolescent and youth health needs.

Vaccination Drives:

Over 500 HPV (Human Papillomavirus Vaccines) have been administered to young girls aged 9-19 years as part of cancer support outreach, advancing early prevention.

Skill Development: Building a Future-Ready Workforce

Apprenticeship Program at HMIL’s Chennai Manufacturing Plant:

More than 2,600 apprentices are trained annually in core automotive skills, contributing to India’s technical talent pool.

Employment Drive for ITI & Polytechnic Students:

HMIL facilitated employment opportunities for 403 students across 9 states across its dealer network.

In partnership with 76 government ITIs and Polytechnic institutes, the program includes technical upskilling, study material on latest automotive advancements, and on-the-job training, aligned with the Skill India mission.

Drive4Progress:

Aimed at improving livelihoods, 1,500 youth including women from marginalized communities across five states have been trained as professional drivers, enhancing mobility and economic participation.

Mobile Road Safety Simulation (Easy Roads):

A first-of-its-kind initiative in Gurugram, educating 10,000+ students from 50+ schools on road safety using immersive simulations to instil responsible civic behaviour.

Sports: Nurturing Champions at the Grassroots

Sports Lab Program:

A robust sports training and mentorship ecosystem has been built in 60 schools across Punjab and Haryana, with 7,500+ students trained, and 200+ medals won at state and national level championships.

Samarth by Hyundai Initiative:

Comprehensive support was extended to 20 para-athletes, 4 of whom represented India at the Paris Paralympics, celebrating inclusivity and excellence.

Art for Hope: Igniting Creative Expression

  • Leveraging art as a medium to drive dialogue on social and environmental issues, the program has supported 130+ youth artists in the past four seasons across disciplines such as visual, digital, performance and community arts.
  • Capacity-building workshops in mobile filmmaking, art and printmaking have provided young creators with tools for self-expression and creative entrepreneurship.

Hyundai’s youth-focused initiatives are not standalone CSR projects, but part of a strategic, integrated vision to nurture human capital and contribute meaningfully to India’s social progress.
