UN Women, in collaboration with Global Compact Network, developed the seven Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) in 2010. These principles provide guidance for businesses on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. The objective of the consultation is to deliberate on these principles and how the corporate sector can build a greater commitment to women’s empowerment and will also share “best practices” and salute business leaders on their corporate leadership in promoting gender equality.
