India accounts for almost 11% of the accident-related deaths in the World
New Delhi: SBI General Insurance, a leading general insurance company in India, has partnered with Doers NGO to support the Himachal Pradesh police in reducing the number of road accidents. As part of its CSR program, SBI General has provided a well-equipped ambulance for immediate medical care for road accident victims in the Mandi district within the crucial “Golden Hour.”
The partnership between SBI General, Doers NGO, the Himachal Pradesh Police, and the Civil Hospital in Sundarnagar aims to provide timely treatment and access to lifesaving medical resources for road accident victims. In addition to this, SBI General has also collaborated with the Himachal Pradesh Police to provide road signages to increase awareness and caution in accident-prone areas on the highway, with the goal of preventing road accidents.
Kishore Kumar Poludasu, MD & CEO of SBI General Insurance, spoke on an initiative and said, “As a part of the company’s CSR program, they have been actively working in the area of road safety for several years. It is heart-breaking to see the rising number of casualties as a result of delayed medical assistance. Being a responsible corporate, the company aims to contribute and support in reducing the number of road accidents. With this contribution alongside their partners, they hope to ensure Suraksha and Bharosa while on the road.”
According to a report by Ministry of Road Transports and Highways Transport Research Wing, road accidents in India kills almost 1.5 lakh people annually. India accounts for almost 11% of the accident-related deaths in the World. With the objective of reducing this number through preventive measures like signages and access to immediate medical care through ambulance support in case of accidents, SBI General has joined hands with HP Police with the support of Doers NGO. Civil Hospital has also contributed towards the same.
