PATNA (India CSR): A three-day Capacity Building Programme on Strategic Planning and Process was inaugurated today at the Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) campus. Organized by the Planning and Development Department, Government of Bihar, in collaboration with CIMP, this initiative aims to enhance the strategic capabilities of officials for effective governance and decision-making under the State Support Mission of NITI Aayog.
1 Aiming for Better Governance
The programme brings together 30 officials, including District Planning Officers, Regional Planning Officers, and Assistant Planning Officers, to equip them with advanced tools for strategic planning and execution. These capacity-building initiatives are vital for improving governance and achieving Bihar’s long-term development goals.
“Strategic planning is the cornerstone of effective governance,” said Prof. Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, during his welcome address. “We are committed to providing the best resources and training to help officials achieve measurable outcomes.”
2 Inaugural Ceremony Sets the Tone
The inaugural session featured dignitaries such as Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Kumod Kumar (Chief Administrative Officer, CIMP), and faculty members Prof. Ankit Sharma and Prof. Rishabh Rajan. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment that the programme aims to provide.
“Bihar’s development hinges on well-planned and effectively executed strategies,” said Prof. Ankit Sharma. “This programme will serve as a stepping stone for the officials to implement innovative solutions in governance.”
3 Comprehensive Curriculum for Practical Learning
The meticulously designed curriculum covers critical aspects of strategic planning, including SWOT analysis, vision setting, implementation strategies, and performance reviews. With an emphasis on interaction and collaboration, the programme ensures that participants leave with actionable insights to apply in their professional roles.
“Our focus is on practical learning,” said Prof. Rishabh Rajan, “so that participants can directly translate their knowledge into impactful actions.”
4 Enhancing Decision-Making for Bihar’s Development
The programme is part of Bihar’s broader efforts to strengthen governance through the State Support Mission of NITI Aayog, which emphasizes capacity building for government officials. This initiative underscores Bihar’s commitment to empowering its workforce with advanced skills to meet the state’s evolving developmental needs.
“Through programmes like this, we aim to build a team of highly skilled officials who can drive Bihar’s growth with informed and strategic decisions,” said Kumod Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer at CIMP.
5 Programme Conclusion and Takeaways
The event will conclude on December 28, 2024, with a feedback session and the distribution of certificates to participants. Officials will leave the programme with improved strategic planning capabilities and a renewed focus on driving impactful change.
By organizing such initiatives, CIMP, as the Lead Knowledge Institute under NITI Aayog, reaffirms its role in building governance excellence in Bihar.
“Together, we are shaping a brighter and more developed Bihar,” concluded Prof. Rana Singh.
