3rd Feb 2021, HDFC Bank and AROH Foundation organized commencing ceremony of aspiring initiative of “Drip & Sprinkler Irrigation System” under Holistic Rural Development Project “Parivartan” in Panchayat Bhawan of Baddo village in Bodla Block of Kawardha district, Chhattisgarh. The event was organized to create awareness and rapport within villagers, government departments and other stakeholders about various welfare initiatives planned to be taken up under Holistic Rural Development Program ‘Parivartan’.
Team Parivartan has planned enterprising initiatives for 15 villages in Bodla block, aiming to benefit more than 10,000 villagers. The ceremony witnessed avid appearances from government including Prabhati Amita Markam (Janpad Adhyaksh), Mr Sanat Jaiswal (Janpad Upadhyaksh), leading bureaucrats like Vinay Kashyap (Janpad CEO), Department experts like J K Netam (Sr ADO Agriculture), Vikas Verma (BPM, ATMA), B S Parihar (KVK Scientist), various RAEOs and senior members from Team Parivartan including Pradeep Verma (Government &Industry Business Head, HDFC Bank), Prashant Das (BM, HDFC Bank, Kawardha) and Qureshi (BM, HDFC Bank, Podi), and Surender Kumar Regar (Senior Program Manager, AROH Foundation) and Mr Brijendra Giri (Program Coordinator, AROH Foundation).
During the ceremony, introduction of pivotal intervention of low water consuming farming techniques namely “Drip” & “Sprinkler” were announced and deployed to the identified farmers. Understanding the water crisis and its subsequent impact of farming, team PARIVARTAN has introduced the water optimizing irrigation facilities with an aim to optimize water & input use in farms, introduce climate resilience crops that can sustain low water consumption and enhance produce quality and yield. Working in the aforementioned expedition, team deployed 20 Drip Irrigation Systems and 30 Sprinklers to the identified needy farmers. Team also announced and demonstrated many other such development initiatives in coming future.
Spokesperson of HDFC Bank has shared information that under the HDFC Bank, Parivartan- CSR of HDFC Bank, more than 150 villages in targeted 15 districts out of 28, has been covered through HRDP programme and gradually contributing in promotion of holistic development of the area.
Spokesperson of AROH Foundation said, “The dynamic partnership of AROH Foundation and HDFC Bank has implemented Holistic Rural Development project in 24 villages of Bilaspur and Raigarh and positively impacted more than 25000 needy villagers in the past. Encouraged by the success and impact of the project in transforming rural lives, the resource pool has been allocated in 15 more villages of Chhattisgarh, in Bodla block of the Kabirdham district to introduce a Focused Development Project (FDP) for the farmers. Besides bringing a positive transformation in people’s lives, Through various interventions, main focus of the program shall be on food security and enhancing the farmers’ income through capacity building for resource optimization, diversification in crops, agricultural practices, local solution based models promotion for better income opportunities for villagers, incubating and scaling of agriculture and allied micro enterprises with backward and forward linkages support. The project will promote Farmers Producer Groups and link them with potential enterprises, SHGs & JLGs, etc. for better support system and convergence with government schemes. We are dedicated towards the reformation of the people, place and procedures through project ‘Parivartan’.”
