Sex trafficking is one of the ugliest truths of our society. A truth that often comes dressed in layers of entertainment, glamour and ignorance. But this grave human right’s violation needs to be spoken about for what it is. Not just because it’s the right thing to do but because there are millions of individuals who woke up this morning, only to breathe life into this truth.
Mukul Madhav Foundation along with Schbang’s ‘Schbang For Good’, an impact communications wing, launched #JamTheTrafficking campaign. The campaign aims to strip away every distraction that lies in between a viewer and the truth. “Sex Trafficking is commodification of an individual’s body parts, operating through a strong network that has made placing an order for a human being’s life as easy as an online transaction. So, we set out to depict just that.”, says Riya Parekh, Creative Lead, Schbang For Good.
The creatives we see too are bold and in your face, calling out sex trafficking for what it is. Mukul Madhav Foundation has taken this bold unconventional route to raise awareness and drive change from the roots – one’s’ perception.
Gayatri Chhabria, Trustee at Mukul Madhav Foundation says, “Human trafficking in India affect between 20 and 65 million people. And these are all innocents. Together with Prajwala, a non-profit organisation spearheaded by Sunitha Krishnan, a Padmashree Awardee and a crusader against sex crime and sex trafficking, we are working towards empowering the survivors of sex trafficking.
Through this campaign designed by Schbang For Good we want to raise awareness about how plagued our society is with this issue and how many innocent lives we sacrifice to flesh trade every single year.”
The foundation is working towards prevention, protection, rescue, rehabilitation & reintegration for the survivors of sex trafficking in India, to ensure they get an equal and fair chance at life.
This campaign is also the launch of Schbang’s new division – Schhbang For Good, that aims to do work on social causes and be the driver of change. Talking about the initiative, Harshil Karia, Founder, Schbang said, “We are thankful for the opportunities the brands are giving us to create a Schbang For Good. We are humbled to be a part of this initiative and help make a difference in some way. This is only the tip of the iceberg, there’s more Schbang For Good coming your way.”
