New Delhi – Godrej Consumer Products Ltd will be building a pyrolysis plant at Kalyan in Maharashtra to convert multi-layer plastic (MLP) into liquid fuel, the company said in its annual report of 2018-19 (Apr-Mar).
The 5TPD capacity plant will be part of an integrated waste management plant to be built by Godrej in association with Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) and Green Roots Solutions (GRS).
The integrated plant will also have a plastic recycling plant of 3TPD to convert recyclable plastic into plastic granules, the report said.
GRS offers solutions on solid waste management to private and government establishments.
The project also involves setting up of 25 TPD of biogas plant to generate biogas from wet waste.
The effort being put is to demonstrate zero garbage to landfill, the report said.
