HYDERABAD: Dhanuka Agritech Limited has received 4,600 nominations in 30 categories from farmers across India for the first edition of the Dhanuka Innovative Agriculture Award. The maximum nominations were received from farmers of Uttar Pradesh (966 nominations), followed by Madhya Pradesh (780) and Maharashtra (584), statement said.
The award, announced in January 2018, aims to recognize and encourage innovative farming techniques adopted/ practised across India.
Nominations were invited in 30 categories from farmers/dealers and agri-institutes/scientists/KVK’s (Krishi Vigyan Kendras)/Research Institutions/SAUs (State Agriculture Universities)/CAUs (Central Agriculture Universities) NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) / SHGs (Self-Help Groups)/ Panchayats etc. who have made outstanding contributions in terms of innovation in agriculture practices and thus increased their produce and income.
R.G. Agarwal, Chairman, Dhanuka Agritech Limited said, “The Award is our initiative wherein we aim to honour innovative farming methods. We believe this will encourage our farmer friends to come and share their innovative practices to enhance the crop productivity and also inspire others.”
Dhanuka Agritech Limited is pioneer in serving the farming community and is working to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission of doubling farmers’ income by 2022. The company plans to announce the winners of the award very soon. The winners will be informed personally through a formal communication and would be invited to the award event.
