Ahmedabad: MICA, India’s premier institute for Strategic Marketing and Communication, has announced the elevation of Prof. Dr. Ruchi Tewari as its Chief Marketing & Experience Officer (CMXO). The appointment reflects MICA’s commitment to strengthening its brand leadership while creating richer and more meaningful stakeholder experiences across the institution.

A distinguished academician, researcher, trainer and institution builder, Dr. Tewari brings over 25 years of experience in higher education, strategic communication, business ethics, corporate governance, and cross-cultural communication. She holds a PhD in Management with a focus on CSR communication in the Indian IT sector, along with an MPhil and an MA in English Literature.

Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Tewari has taught and contributed to leading institutions including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Rohtak, NRTI, EDI and several other premier institutes. Her expertise spans Strategic Communication, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Business Ethics, and Technology-Mediated Human Communication, making her uniquely positioned to bridge academic excellence with stakeholder engagement.

An accomplished scholar, she has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed research papers and several book chapters, while co-authoring books on strategic communication and partnership building. Her research has been presented at renowned international forums, including IAMCR and AMS, and has explored contemporary themes such as emotional intelligence, digital behaviour, and algorithmic media.

Beyond academia, Dr. Tewari has delivered over 1,000 hours of corporate training for academic and industry audiences, covering areas such as communication effectiveness, critical thinking, strategic storytelling, and crisis communication. She has also conducted faculty development programmes and served as a trainer for organizations including ISRO and MGLI.

Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Tewari mentioned, ‘It is matter of pride for me but feel a deep sense of responsibility. I understand that this means advancing the institute’s brand, enhancing learner and alumni experiences and strengthening MICA’s engagement with industry, academia, and society’. Her leadership is expected to further reinforce MICA’s position as a globally respected institution shaping the future of marketing, communications, creativity, and leadership.
