Visamo Kids Foundation promotes sustainable child welfare through solar power, rainwater recharge and solar lighting at its Ahmedabad campus.
AHMEDABAD (India CSR): Reinforcing the belief that social development and environmental responsibility must go hand in hand, Visamo Kids Foundation (VKF) has strengthened its sustainability efforts by implementing rainwater recharge systems, solar power generation, and solar-powered lighting across its residential campus. The initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to building a future where child welfare is complemented by responsible environmental stewardship.
As India accelerates its transition towards sustainable development, institutions are increasingly expected to integrate environmentally conscious practices into their operations. At Visamo Kids Foundation, sustainability has become an integral part of the campus ecosystem, creating lasting environmental impact while fostering awareness among the children who call the Foundation their home. To date, the Foundation’s solar power system has generated 111,695 kWh of clean energy, resulting in an estimated savings of approximately Rs. 6 lakhs, demonstrating how sustainable infrastructure can create both environmental and economic value over time.
The Foundation has established a rainwater recharge system that enables rainwater to percolate into the ground, supporting groundwater replenishment and contributing to long-term water security. The initiative promotes responsible water management and aligns with broader efforts to conserve one of the country’s most critical natural resources.
Furthering its commitment to clean energy, VKF has installed solar panels to generate renewable electricity for the campus. By reducing dependence on conventional power sources, the Foundation is lowering its carbon footprint while creating a more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible campus.
To complement these efforts, solar-powered lighting has been installed across outdoor spaces, ensuring energy-efficient illumination, improving campus safety, and reducing overall electricity consumption.
Beyond environmental conservation, these initiatives serve as practical learning experiences for the children residing at the Foundation. Living in a campus powered by renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure helps instill values of environmental responsibility, resource conservation, and climate consciousness from an early age, empowering them to become informed and responsible citizens.
Speaking on the initiative, the management of Visamo Kids Foundation said, ” We believe that caring for children also means caring for the environment they will inherit. Through water conservation and renewable energy projects, we aim to create a sustainable campus while inspiring our children to become responsible citizens.”
Through these initiatives, Visamo Kids Foundation continues to demonstrate that sustainability is not merely an operational choice but a core component of holistic child development. By integrating environmental stewardship with education and care, the Foundation is contributing to national sustainability goals while creating long-term social value for future generations.
The initiative reflects VKF’s broader vision of creating meaningful impact through responsible action, proving that every investment in sustainability is also an investment in the well-being of communities and the future of the planet.
