Climate Action Receives the Largest Share of CSR Funding

Climate action emerged as the largest area of standalone CSR expenditure during FY2025-26.

According to the annual report, Adani Enterprises allocated Rs 20.07 crore toward climate-related initiatives, making it the highest-funded thematic area within its CSR portfolio.

The report highlights that environmental sustainability projects focused on ecological restoration, afforestation, water conservation, and biodiversity protection.

One of the major projects undertaken during the year was the Taranga Hills ecological restoration initiative in Gujarat. The project covers approximately 400 hectares and aims to restore degraded landscapes through scientific conservation techniques.

According to the report, the initiative uses advanced technologies such as satellite-based forest monitoring and drone-assisted seeding to assess and improve ecological outcomes.

Adani Enterprises also expanded its plantation efforts during the year. The annual report states that 4,29,622 trees were planted across various locations during FY2025-26. This brought the cumulative plantation figure to more than 2.9 million trees.

The report further highlights that these afforestation initiatives have helped sequester more than three lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions over time.

Education Continues to Be a Key Priority

Education remained the second-largest area of CSR investment for Adani Enterprises during the financial year.

According to the annual report, Rs 15.63 crore was spent on education-related initiatives aimed at improving access to quality learning opportunities, especially for students from underserved communities.

The report states that the Adani Foundation supports a network of schools and educational programmes that focus on learning outcomes, infrastructure improvement, and student development.

One of the flagship initiatives highlighted in the report is Project Utthan, which seeks to improve academic performance and learning outcomes in government schools.

Adani Enterprises also continued implementing Project Udaan, an exposure-based learning programme designed to broaden students’ understanding of career opportunities and industrial development.

According to the annual report, 3,432 students participated in Project Udaan during FY2025-26, including more than 2,700 female students. The programme provided opportunities for students to visit industrial facilities and gain practical exposure to various sectors.

The report also mentions Project ANKUR, which provided remedial literacy support to 350 students from economically weaker backgrounds in collaboration with the ANAWA Trust.

Infrastructure support remained another important component of the education strategy. During the year, ten schools received assistance for classroom refurbishment, sanitation facilities, and digital learning infrastructure, benefiting more than 5,200 students.

Healthcare Programmes Focus on Rural Access

Healthcare and nutrition initiatives accounted for Rs 5.50 crore of standalone CSR expenditure during FY2025-26.

According to the annual report, healthcare programmes were designed to improve access to medical services in rural and remote areas where healthcare infrastructure remains limited.

A key component of Adani Enterprises Limited’s healthcare strategy is the operation of Mobile Health Care Units (MHCUs). These mobile facilities bring medical consultations, diagnostic services, and medicines directly to villages.

The report highlights that the programme is particularly beneficial for elderly residents, women, and individuals who face mobility challenges.

Healthcare interventions also focused on nutrition and maternal health through the SuPoshan initiative.

According to the annual report, the programme addresses malnutrition among children and anaemia among adolescent girls and women. Community volunteers known as SuPoshan Sanginis work closely with families to monitor health indicators and provide nutritional guidance.

The report further highlights Adani Enterprises Limited’s partnership with Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research (DMIHER) to strengthen healthcare education and medical infrastructure. As of June 2025, the collaboration had supported the upgrading of 15 educational institutions and five hospitals.

Sustainable Livelihood Programmes Strengthen Local Economies

Creating sustainable income opportunities remained another major focus area for the company during FY2025-26.

According to the annual report, Adani Enterprises invested Rs 9 crore in livelihood development programmes aimed at improving economic resilience among vulnerable communities.

The report highlights efforts to promote entrepreneurship, skill development, and income generation through targeted interventions.

One of the major initiatives under this category is Project Saksham, which provides vocational and technical training to young people to improve employability and self-employment opportunities.

Women-led enterprises also received support through capacity-building programmes and market linkages designed to strengthen local entrepreneurship.

Another initiative, Sathwaro, focused on supporting artisan communities by helping them convert traditional skills into sustainable sources of income.

According to the annual report, 384 individuals benefited through micro-enterprise initiatives and apparel production units supported under livelihood programmes during the year.

Community Development Projects Support Local Infrastructure

Community development accounted for Rs 9.98 crore of standalone CSR expenditure during FY2025-26.

According to the report, investments were directed toward infrastructure development, water conservation, public utilities, and social inclusion initiatives.

The annual report highlights that these projects were implemented in areas surrounding Adani Enterprises Limited’s operational locations and focused on addressing community-specific needs.

Among the notable initiatives is Adani Mangal Seva, a social welfare programme designed to support newly married women with disabilities.

Under the scheme, a fixed deposit of Rs 10 lakh is created in the name of each beneficiary for a period of ten years. The interest generated provides monthly financial support that can be used for healthcare, education, or household expenses.

According to the report, 500 beneficiaries have been enrolled under the programme so far, with plans to expand coverage in the coming years.

Adani Enterprises also supported rural infrastructure projects such as roads, water conservation structures, and community facilities aimed at improving quality of life in surrounding regions.

Sports Development Receives Continued Support

The annual report also highlights Adani Enterprises Limited’s continued investment in sports development through the Garv Hai programme.

The initiative identifies and supports talented athletes from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by providing financial assistance, coaching support, and access to professional training opportunities.

According to the report, 26 athletes have benefited from the programme to date, including seven new athletes added during FY2025-26.

The programme seeks to create opportunities for young sportspersons to compete at higher levels and pursue long-term athletic careers.

Social Impact Across Communities

According to the annual report, Adani Enterprises Limited’s CSR initiatives directly impacted 89,988 beneficiaries during FY2025-26.

The programmes covered a wide range of areas, including healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, livelihood generation, and infrastructure development.

The report highlights that the Adani Foundation’s extensive presence across thousands of villages enables the company to implement community-based interventions at scale while addressing local development priorities.

Many of the programmes are designed as long-term initiatives that continue over multiple years rather than one-time interventions.

This approach, according to the report, helps ensure sustainable outcomes and stronger community participation.

Governance and CSR Oversight

The annual report states that Adani Enterprises’ CSR activities are governed by a Board-level CSR Committee responsible for policy oversight, project monitoring, and regulatory compliance.

The committee is chaired by Mrs. Vijaylaxmi Joshi, Independent Director.

According to the report, the committee met twice during FY2025-26 to review programme implementation and monitor CSR expenditure.

Adani Enterprises Limited’s Chief Financial Officer certified that CSR funds were utilised only for approved projects in accordance with the Board-approved CSR policy.

The report also highlights ongoing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms designed to assess programme effectiveness and improve future interventions.

Looking Ahead

As India continues to focus on inclusive growth and sustainable development, corporate CSR spending remains an important contributor to community welfare. Adani Enterprises’ CSR expenditure of Rs 140.50 crore during FY2025-26 reflects a broad-based approach that combines social development with environmental responsibility.

According to the annual report, climate action, education, healthcare, livelihoods, and community development will continue to remain key focus areas in the years ahead. The company has outlined plans to expand its outreach through larger health programmes, greater support for schools, and increased investments in water conservation and environmental restoration.

The report highlights that while infrastructure remains central to Adani Enterprises Limited’s business operations, its CSR initiatives are aimed at creating long-term social value by supporting healthier, more educated, and more resilient communities across India.
