It is only fitting our father is being honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” as part of the Social Impact Awards by Indian CSR Awards for his selfless service to society. We are grateful to Brand Honcho for this recognition, which will inspire us to work even harder to carry his values and legacy forward.”

Jai Karan Sharma was the son of a farmer from a small village Jhinjhar, in Haryana. He started from scratch and went on to set up the Chetak Group and created a new benchmark in automobile logistics in India, bringing the logistics sector to the mainstream.

He was a business statesman and a pioneer who brought innovation and the latest technologies to the logistics sector. As a business leader, for many, he remains an icon and a model to follow.

Jai Karan Sharma created livelihood opportunities for thousands of people and was known for his passion for helping underprivileged people in society. He made an exemplary contribution to the education sector by supporting schools and colleges’ infrastructure development for economically weaker children. This recognition is a vindication of his selfless service to society.

Jai Karan Sharma was acclaimed as the leading entrepreneur of the 20th century and was commended for his dynamic, path-breaking and innovative genius. He was an inspirational leader, and his success sparked the imagination of a generation of progressive Indian entrepreneurs and businesses.

His vision was to redefine the rules in the Indian Transport Industry by providing the best and path-finding solutions with the flexibility to adapt new practices, policies, and technology to meet the customers’ requirements. He took pride in inducting India’s top automobile companies among the Group’s clients, including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Ford, JCB and many more.

Many national and international organizations have recognized his contributions to the nation’s social and economic development.

He was awarded the “Transport Rattan” by AIMTC, the “Rastriya Udyog Rattan” Award by LOBRD, and the “Outstanding National Citizen” Award by NSG. He was bestowed with the title of “Transport Samrat” by AIMTC and the Udyog Rattan Award by the Institute of Economic Studies.

The recognition did not stop, even as he left for his heavenly abode in October 2020.

Alden Global declared him the “Logistics Man of India’, in 2021 for his outstanding contribution to the Logistics sector and the industry.

The Indian Postal Department issued a stamp to honour Jai Karan Sharma ji for contributing to social development and helping the underprivileged. The stamp was released by Hon’ble Union Minister for Tourism & Culture Shri Kishan Reddy ji last year.

His dream lives on through the Chetak Foundation, a social arm of Chetak Group, set up by his family as a tribute to him and his vision of making a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged communities.
