The Indian online betting market is growing faster than most others in Asia — according to industry analysts, the number of active players in the country is increasing at a double-digit rate every year. Against this backdrop, 1Win has carved out a solid niche for itself: launched in 2016 and operating under Curaçao licence No. 8048/JAZ, the service is now one of the most downloaded betting apps in India. The two main factors behind this popularity are convenient mobile access and a reliable payment system in rupees. Let’s take a closer look at these.

Mobile App: What’s Inside

1Win IN offers two formats for mobile access: a native app for Android in the form of an APK file and a progressive web app (PWA) for iOS, which is added to the home screen via the Safari browser. The app is not available on Google Play — the APK is downloaded directly from the official 1Win website.

The technical requirements are minimal: for Android, version 5.0 and 100 MB of free memory are sufficient, for iOS — version 10.0 and above. This is an important point for India, where a significant part of the audience uses budget smartphones in the mid-price segment — Samsung Galaxy, Xiaomi, Realme and Oppo. The app has been tested on a wide range of devices and works stably even on models that are five years old.

The functionality of the 1Win IN app is identical to the desktop version: bets on 35+ sports, over 10,000 casino games and slots, a live section with broadcasts and a live casino. The interface is available in Hindi and English. The vertical screen orientation and large buttons allow you to bet with one hand without having to switch between sections.

Several features set the mobile version apart from browser access:

  • Biometric login — via fingerprint or Face ID on compatible devices;
  • Offline coupon — saves selected outcomes when the connection is lost and sends the bet automatically when the connection is restored;
  • Quick bet — remembers the last amount so you don’t have to re-enter it;
  • Push notifications — about match results, payment status and current promotions.

The app consumes less mobile traffic compared to the browser version — a critical parameter for players operating on limited 4G tariffs outside major cities.

UPI, PhonePe and Rupees: How Payments Work

One of the key reasons why players from India choose 1Win casino is the absence of currency conversion. All transactions are conducted in Indian rupees (INR), and accounts are held in the same currency. This means that the amount the player sees when making a deposit is the same as the amount that appears in their balance — with no hidden fees.

Supported payment methods for Indian players:

  • UPI (Unified Payments Interface) — instant interbank transfer, integrated with most Indian banks;
  • Paytm — one of the largest mobile wallets in the country;
  • PhonePe — a popular UPI-based payment system;
  • Net Banking — direct bank transfer via internet banking;
  • Cryptocurrency — USDT and other coins for those who prefer anonymous transactions.

The minimum deposit at 1Win via UPI, Paytm and PhonePe is ₹300. Deposits are credited instantly after the transaction is confirmed. The minimum withdrawal is ₹500. Withdrawals via UPI are processed within a few minutes to a few hours, via Net Banking — from 24 to 48 hours. Cryptocurrency withdrawals take 10 to 60 minutes, depending on the speed of confirmation in the blockchain.

Transaction Security

1Win casino uses 256-bit SSL encryption for all financial transactions and personal data — the same standard used in banking systems. Additionally, fraud monitoring is in place: suspicious transactions are blocked until verification is complete.

Account verification (KYC) is mandatory before the first withdrawal of funds. The player provides a scan of their passport, Aadhaar card or other ID — a standard set of documents familiar to most Indians from banking procedures. Verification usually takes from a few hours to one business day. This is standard practice for licensed operators, as required by the Curaçao regulator — it protects both the player from unauthorised access to their account and the operator from fraudulent schemes.

Each player can only have one account at 1Win. Creating multiple accounts on one device or IP address will result in blocking and loss of funds — a rule that also works as a protective mechanism against abuse of the bonus system.

Cricket and IPL as a Point of Attraction

Another factor contributing to the popularity of 1Win casino in India is its extensive coverage of cricket. IPL, T20 World Cup, ODI, Ranji Trophy and international series are all available in both the pre-match and live sections. For IPL matches, markets are available for match winner, total runs, top batsman, handicap and specific over bets. Live broadcasts of 12+ sports are available for free — no minimum balance or active bet required.

The cricket season is the peak period for using the app: on IPL match days, the service is under maximum load, and optimising the mobile version for stable operation under high simultaneous load directly affects audience retention. Live betting with real-time odds updates is available for every ball in T20.

Why It Works Specifically in India

The popularity of 1Win IN in the country is due to a combination of several factors. India has one of the largest mobile audiences in the world: according to Statista, more than 750 million people access the internet from their smartphones. Most of them use UPI on a daily basis — according to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), over 100 billion transactions were processed through UPI in 2024. An app that integrates seamlessly into this payment stack and runs on a budget Android device is initially in a winning position.

The Hindi interface lowers the language barrier for audiences outside Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore — cities where English is more widely spoken. Together, these solutions form a reputation that spreads in India mainly through recommendations between players.
