KidZania, the world’s leading edutainment brand has associated with Bajaj ElectricalsFor the World Environment Day that falls on 5th June. This also marks the culmination of the multi-month celebration of “Kids for a Greener World – In Harmony with Nature” campaign at KidZania.
The campaign highlighted the importance of using our resources wisely and curtailing wastage. A host of workshops were conducted such as Green Energy, Harmonious Art, Recycled Fashion, Growing Organically and Biodiversity Conservation under this initiative.
In Green Energy workshop the main focus is on experiential learning about renewable sources by wind and kinetic energy, wherein the kids are taught to make Anemometer or with help of cycling generate kinetic energy. To show case the true form of kinetic energy, the mega project of lighting up Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), a large size cut out was created. As the kinetic energy is generated by peddling cycles, the CST gets lit up. This was educative as well as the kids enjoyed the overall activity.
Under this initiative children visiting KidZania donated their hard earned KidZos (the KidZania currency) for ‘Kids for a Cause’towards ‘Light up Nepal’for lighting a school that was affected in the recent earthquake. This drive was supported by KidZania and Bajaj Electricals who converted the KidZos donated by the children to provide lighting products. Overs 120 lanterns along with Batteries were handed over to Abhilasha Foundation, an NGO that works in the field of education, child development, empowerment women, health, welfare etc
Through KidZania’s ‘Kids for Greener World’ a platform was created, enabling children to learn more about their environment and to share their best ideas and pledge their commitment to a Greener World. The program entailed eco-themed role-playing activities at KidZania and the Green Debate while instilling a very important value of encouraging kids to give back to their community and society at large.
