Mumbai – A national, not-for-profit organization engaged in social service and human welfare activities, Wockhardt Foundation has signed MOU with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for the renewal of 24 mobile medical vans.
MOU was signed by Sushanta Dhar, Chief General Manager (CGM), HPCL and Ajhay R Somvanshi, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Wockhardt Foundation.
The members of HPCL CSR team, Nihar Mohopatra, C.M. Dharmik, Ajoy Singh, Nikhil Agarwal and Denis Varghese, Director, Wockhardt, were also present.
With a view to provide basic health care facilities to the parts of India who suffer from the inadequacy and inaccessibility of primary healthcare services, mobile medical vans were introduced.
A mobile medical van is fully equipped with a MBBS doctor and medicines providing ADCR (Awareness, Diagnosis, Cure, and Referral) primary healthcare services.
The wockhardt’s programmes have made perceptible change in the areas of operations to the lives of the underprivileged. Mobile 1000, its flagship programme, aims at operating 1000 Mobile Health Vans in rural India and administering free primary healthcare to 2.5 million Indians every year.
Its other programmes like Little Hearts, Pronto Toilet, Pronto Bio-Toilet, E-Learning, Khel Khel Mein, Wockhardt Skills Development Institute, SHUDHU water purification tablets and Adarsh Gram Yojana have made significant impact and it continues to expand its social coverage in the deprived areas.
