MUMBAI: Wockhardt Foundation, a not-for-profit organization known for its engaged in social service and human welfare activities, has been awarded with India CSR award for the CSR innovation and Leadership organized by India CSR, world’s leading CSR Newswire.
Wockhardt Foundation has received this recognition for the Swachh Bharat Recycle machine initiative in the CSR Innovation Award category.
The award was presented in a glittering award ceremony held in Bangalore and was received by Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, CEO, Wockhardt Foundation from the hands of Chief Guest of the function T. B. Jayachandra, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs & Higher Education, Govt. of Karnataka in the presence of Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, DG & CEO, India Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA); Ramdas Mansing Mane, CMD, Mane Group of Companies; Sanjay Katkar, Joint MD, Quick Heal Technologies Limited; Sudarshan Suchi, Program Head, Reliance Foundation; Rusen Kumar, Founder and Managing Editor, India CSR and Dr Rana Singh, Co-Founder and CEO, India CSR.
Approximately 7.5 million tones hazardous waste is generated every year which is mostly dumped on open ground & low lying areas. The waste goes on piling up everyday increasing the cost of waste management. A step towards resolving this issue to an extent has been taken by Wockhardt Foundation with a great mission of ‘Hoga Clean India’. Wockhardt Foundation has already installed two such recycle machines at Churchgate station together with Western Railways.
