Speaking on the occasion, Matli Venu Gopal Reddy, IAS, Director, Department of Women Development and Child Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh, appreciated VIT-AP University for its social responsibility initiatives. He particularly commended the university for recognizing and honouring the services of several unsung heroes every year on Independence Day and Republic Day—individuals who have made significant contributions to society and, in some cases, even sacrificed their lives while saving others. He called upon everyone to remember the great leaders who fought for the country’s freedom and to move forward with the spirit of those great leaders.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. P. Arulmozhivarman highlighted the university’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. He said, “Independence Day is not only a celebration of our freedom but also an occasion to recognize those who serve society with courage and selflessness. Honouring these unsung heroes is our humble tribute to their dedication and an inspiration for our students to embrace the values of service and responsibility.”
