1 A Vision for Holistic Community Development

The Nand Ghar initiative, Vedanta’s flagship community program under the Anil Agarwal Foundation, is developed in partnership with the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. These centers provide digital early childhood education, healthcare services, and nutrition programs, while also promoting women’s empowerment.

“Children and women are central to our development strategy for Rajasthan,” said Mahima Kumari Mewar, Member of Parliament. “These Nand Ghars reflect a shared vision to uplift communities at the grassroots level.”

2 Equipped for a Brighter Future

The newly inaugurated Nand Ghars, located in the Railmagra and Khamnor blocks, are equipped with solar power, e-learning tools, and modern healthcare services. These centers symbolize sustainable rural development and aim to foster the holistic growth of communities.

Highlighting the impact, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, MLA Nathdwara, stated, “The Nand Ghar initiative is a transformative step toward ensuring the well-being and growth of children and women, the future of Rajasthan.”

3 A National Milestone for Nand Ghar

The Anil Agarwal Foundation plans to establish 25,000 Nand Ghars across Rajasthan within the next two years. Currently, more than 6,600 Nand Ghars are operational across 15 states, positively impacting over 2,60,000 children and 1,90,000 women nationwide.

“At Hindustan Zinc, we are committed to transforming rural communities,” said Arun Misra, CEO Hindustan Zinc. “Nand Ghars embody our vision of building inclusive and prosperous communities by empowering children and women.”

4 Beyond Nand Ghars: Hindustan Zinc’s Broader Impact

Hindustan Zinc’s social initiatives extend beyond anganwadis. Programs like Shiksha Sambal, Zinc Football Academy, and Sakhi and Samadhan focus on education, skill development, healthcare, and infrastructure improvement. These initiatives have positively impacted nearly 20 lakh lives across 3,700 villages.

“Our efforts go beyond corporate responsibility,” said a spokesperson for Hindustan Zinc. “We aim to create a lasting impact, promoting sustainable and inclusive development.”

5 Setting New Standards in CSR

Recognized as one of India’s top CSR companies, Vedanta’s Hindustan Zinc continues to lead with programs that drive long-term societal benefits. The 31 new Nand Ghars in Rajsamand are a testament to this commitment, setting a benchmark for rural community transformation across India.

“Sustainable development is at the heart of what we do,” concluded Arun Misra. “Together, we are building a brighter, more inclusive future.”
