UDAIPUR (India CSR): Hindustan Zinc, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and one of the top 10 silver producers globally, is all set to host the third edition of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon in Udaipur on 6 September 2026. With 30 days to go, the marathon has already crossed 5,500 registrations across its three race categories, as runners from across India and beyond gear up for India’s Most Beautiful Marathon. Set against Udaipur’s iconic lakes, Aravalli landscape and cultural landmarks, the upcoming edition will bring together professional athletes, first-time runners, families, students and corporate teams under the shared banner of ‘One Run, One Community.’

Organised by Hindustan Zinc Limited in association with Anybody Can Run, and certified by AIMS and affiliated with World Athletics, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon is widely touted as India’s Most Beautiful Marathon. Winding through the iconic Fateh Sagar Lake, Aravalli Hills and the city’s cultural landmarks, the marathon has rapidly grown in scale and stature, drawing runners from across India and abroad who come not only to race, but to experience the unique confluence of wellness, sport and tourism that Zinc City – Udaipur offers. The race also supports the cause of #RunForZeroHunger, combining physical endurance with social impact.

This year’s participation has already surpassed key benchmarks: over 800 runners have registered for the 21.097 km Half Marathon, 1,500+ for the 10 km Cool Run, and more than 3,200 for the 5 km Dream Run. The event builds on the success of its previous edition, which brought together 7,000 runners from 27 Indian states and several countries and reflects a rising national interest in endurance sport in off-metro circuits. With increased participation from global and diverse runners expected this year, the marathon continues to elevate Udaipur’s visibility on the global running calendar.

Ashmika Sharma, an avid Runner commented “Having participated in the last two editions of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, this race feels personal to me. As someone from Udaipur, running through the city’s lakeside route, heritage stretches and Aravalli backdrop is an experience unlike any other. This year, I am excited to challenge myself with the 21 km Half Marathon. For me, #VZCHM is not just about the finish line, it is about celebrating the spirit, beauty and energy of Zinc City.”

The race will be flagged off from the prestigious Field Club, Udaipur, with the 21.097km Half Marathon course taking runners along Fateh Sagar Pal, Rotary Circle, Sunset Point Park, Nehru Garden, and Saheliyon Ki Bari before looping back. The 10 km and 5 km routes have been carefully mapped to ensure safe and enjoyable participation across age groups and fitness levels. With scenic terrain, cool September weather and robust logistical planning, the marathon promises a memorable experience for all.

Amanda Dascoulias, a global Runner from United States “As a former U.S. Army Sergeant, an enthusiastic traveller and a mother of three, running has always been a source of discipline and resilience for me. I am excited to be a part of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon and experience Udaipur in such a unique way. Running along a route framed by its beautiful lakes, the Aravallis and the city’s distinctive heritage makes this race particularly special. I look forward to experiencing India’s Most Beautiful Marathon and sharing the course with runners from across India and the world.”

Beyond fitness, the marathon is expected to generate positive economic spillovers across Udaipur’s hospitality and tourism ecosystem, boosting footfall for local hotels, restaurants, transport operators and retail businesses. Over the past two editions, the event has become a showcase of Udaipur’s rising potential as a destination for inclusive and experiential sporting events.

Registrations for the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon are currently open via the official Udaipur Marathon and Hindustan Zinc digital platforms and will remain so until all categories are filled.
