WEST BOKARO: Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division is all set to host the first ever Jharkhand State Ranking Table Tennis Championship.
The championship being jointly organised by Ramgarh District Table Tennis Association and Tata Steel will be held at Holy Cross School, West Bokaro from June 8 to June 10, 2018.
More than 150 players from various districts of the state are expected to participate in the 3-day sporting extravaganza.
To successfully organise the championship, an organising committee has been formed comprising of officials from District Administration, Tata Steel, Jharkhand State Table Tennis Association and members of social organisations of the region.
Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Manager (Coal), Tata Steel said, “To us, sports is a way of life, which reflects in all our sporting initiatives, be it the world-class academies or the names across sporting disciplines that make India proud. We are privileged to host this first of its kind tournament.”
It is worth mentioning here that last year in the month of April, the Division had hosted 2nd Divyang Mini National Day and Night Cricket Tournament which was inaugurated by Draupadi Murmu, Governor of Jharkhand.
