Tamil Nadu Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi announces the significant contribution aimed at bolstering infrastructure facilities in government schools.

CHENNAI (India CSR): Tamil Nadu’s Minister for School Education, Thiru Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, announced on June 23, 2023, that the Namma School Foundation has received a substantial donation of Rs 68.48 crores. The donation, garnered from various corporations and philanthropists, will be channelled towards enhancing the infrastructure facilities in government schools across the state.

In a grand ceremony at Radisson Blu, Chennai, the third edition of the ASSOCHAM Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability Awards recognised corporations contributing positively to society through sustainable initiatives. The awards were presented by Thiru Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Tamil Nadu Minister for School Education, and Thiru Meyyanathan Siva V, Environment Minister, who also discussed significant governmental measures and announcements.

Boosting School Infrastructure with Generous Donations

During the event, Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi made an uplifting announcement. The Namma School Foundation had received a significant donation of Rs 68.48 crores from corporations and philanthropists. The Minister stated that these funds would be utilized for enhancing infrastructure facilities in government schools across Tamil Nadu. The announcement was met with wide applause, marking a notable step forward in improving public education in the state.

Investing in School Infrastructure

The substantial funds raised will be utilized to address the infrastructural needs of government schools in the state. The aim is to provide students with better learning environments, including well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and libraries, and to improve sanitation facilities. This investment is crucial in enhancing the overall quality of education and promoting a conducive learning atmosphere.

This generous donation marks a significant step forward in the state’s commitment to providing quality education for all. The contribution will ensure that students, regardless of their socio-economic background, have access to improved learning spaces. This move aligns with the government’s vision of enhancing educational standards and fostering an environment that stimulates intellectual growth and development.

Govt. Measures Against Climate Change

Environment Minister Meyyanathan Siva V also utilized this platform to discuss the Tamil Nadu state government’s proactive measures to combat climate change. He highlighted the focused efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in the 14 coastal districts and other vulnerable regions. The Minister’s address underscored the government’s commitment to environmental sustainability, and its dedication to address the impending threats of climate change.
