LANJIGARH (Odisha): Sesa Sterlite under it’s Corporate Social responsibilities has taken initiative towards felicitating the Mauritius students of HSC, ICSE and CBSE students In Kalahandi Utsav Rendo Majhi Manch this year.
In this felicitation Ceremony Chief Guest Arun Sahoo-Cabinet Minister Panchayat Raj and Legal as well as other guests Puspendu singdeo- Cabinet Minister Urban Development, Balabhadra Majhi-MLA Lanjigarh, Capt. Dibyasankar Mishra-MLA Junagarh, Anam Naik-MLA Bhawanipatna, Bijay Ketan Upadhay-Collector Kalahandi, Brajesh Kumar Roy-SP Kalahandi, SrimatiMajhi-ZP Chairman, K.K.Dave COO Sesa Sterlite, Srimayee Mishra-Chairperson Women Cooperative, Udit Prasad Singh and Koustav Ratan Kundu-Head HR SSL are present .
On this occasion KK Dave COO Sesa Sterlite says “SesaSterlite has been partnering with community towards giving priority on education. Education is the only way to make the area more developed. We wish all the best for a bright future to the students”.
Pragati Bansal and Kesab Agrawal from Kendriya Vidyalaya (CBSE), SudeviBhanj and Aditya Kar(HSC), Sonal Agrawal and Arpendu Chandra Sahu (Vimla Convent) has been felicitated by the guests through Gyanashree Award. The students have been selected by the committee across the district.
In the program various dignitaries of state as well as the district are present. All the students have been felicitated with LAPTOP by the guests. Company has been running a DAV Vedanta Int. School to provide quality English medium teaching to more than 700 students of Lanjigarh and its peripheral. Also company has opened approx. 37 child care centres for the pre-schooling, 10 nos of free computer literacy training centres in the area.
SSL has sponsored 100 tribal students of Niyamgiri range to Kalinga Institute of Social Science, Bhubaneswar for better education.
Already SSL have built advanced hygienic Mid-day meal centre at Lanjigarh to serve nutritious and quality food to 18000 students of 187 schools in Lanjigarh block in association with Govt. of Odisha and Naandi Foundation.
As a result the school dropout has been decreased in Lanjigarh block. Similarly Sesa Sterlite has been conferred by SP Kalahandi as 2nd Best Stall in Kalahandi Utsav in the presence of other dignitaries where company has been giving a social message to the visitors by displaying its CSR activities banners, Posters and leaflets. Various cultural functions have been arranged by the district administration where Prince Group is the special attraction.
