RBL Bank recently organized a Cyclothon to raise funds and support girl child education in Hyderabad. In an effort to ensure that this initiative includes the main workforce of the Bank, they encouraged participation of local employees for the Cyclothon.
This was received tremendously well and the employees cycled on for 1000 kms to live up to the name of this Cyclothon- UMEED 1000. When the Cyclothon started, a lot of the local police also joined in and graced this initiative.
Since its inception, UMEED 1000 Cyclothon has raised more than Rs. 6 Crores from employee participation across various cities. This recent initiative in Hyderabad was aimed to benefit UDBHAV RBL School in Fatehnagar, Hyderabad in providing quality education to girl children. Udbhav Schools are catering to the educational needs of 950 underprivileged students and the numbers are expected to rise in the following academic years.
The funds raised from this Cyclothon will be used to further develop the UDBHAV RBL School and make it a great place to provide quality education.
