Students in Rajasthan will lead hygiene conversations through the Dettol Hygiene School Podcast under Dettol Banega Swasth India.
JAIPUR (India CSR): Reckitt, a health and hygiene company, said its Dettol Banega Swasth India campaign has reached lakhs of children in Rajasthan over five years and has now introduced the Dettol Hygiene School Podcast with OHO Radio to enable students in the state to lead hygiene awareness and preventive health conversations.
The initiative was announced on 16 June 2026. It is being implemented in Rajasthan as an extension of the Dettol School Hygiene Education Programme. The company said the podcast aims to move the programme from hygiene awareness in classrooms to student-led communication for families and communities.
The Dettol Hygiene School Podcast allows students to participate as junior radio jockeys. They will discuss hygiene, health habits and preventive practices through audio episodes.
The programme uses peer-led conversations. It aims to make hygiene messages more relatable for young audiences. The company said students will share knowledge and encourage behaviour change among friends, families and communities.
The Rajasthan edition follows an earlier student-led podcast initiative in Uttarakhand. According to the company, that campaign engaged students on hygiene and climate awareness.
The current edition has been developed in partnership with OHO Radio, a digital audio platform. The Dettol Hygiene School Podcast will air every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM exclusively on the OHO Radio app.
The broadcast series will focus on five pillars of the Dettol Banega Swasth India campaign. These include personal hygiene, hygiene at home, hygiene in school, hygiene in the neighbourhood and hygiene during illness.
These themes cover daily health habits, clean household practices, safer school environments, community sanitation and preventive care during illness.
Ravi Bhatnagar, Director Corporate Communications and Corporate Affairs, South Asia, MENARP and Africa, Reckitt, said, “At Reckitt, we have always believed that lasting change begins at the grassroots when young voices are given the platform to lead change. The launch of the Dettol Hygiene School Podcast in Rajasthan builds on the proven success of our Uttarakhand initiative, further strengthening the impact of Dettol Banega Swasth India. By enabling students to become ambassadors of hygiene and preventive health, we are not only amplifying critical messages but also nurturing a generation that understands that hygiene is the foundation of good health. This initiative reflects our continued commitment to delivering better health in more hands every day and our shared vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.”
RJ Kaavya, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, OHO Media Network, said, “OHO Radio is proud to partner with Dettol Banega Swasth India campaign. With its last season in Uttarakhand, OHO Radio and Dettol, proved that the ‘Dettol Hygiene School Podcast’ is not just a radio program; but it is an inspiring initiative aimed at empowering children to become Hygiene Champions. Through this podcast, the students of Rajasthan, will play a vital role in spreading awareness among their families, friends, and communities. OHO Radio encourages all the listeners to tune in to the ‘Dettol Banega Swasth India Hygiene School Podcast’ every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM exclusively on OHO Radio.”
Dettol Banega Swasth India is one of India’s long-running public health campaigns focused on hygiene and sanitation awareness. The Rajasthan podcast adds a student participation component to the campaign’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) communication work.
The initiative is relevant for schools, CSR leaders, public health stakeholders and community development organisations because it uses children as communicators for hygiene awareness at the household and community level.
