The 800-metre streetscape project will introduce sustainable resurfacing, safer walkways, improved drainage and enhanced lighting.
BENGALURU (India CSR): Prestige Group has announced the commencement of the transformation of Brunton Road, off MG Road, reaffirming its commitment to creating value beyond its developments by strengthening Bengaluru’s public infrastructure, promoting sustainable urban development, and enhancing shared public spaces.
Representing an investment of approximately Rs 3 crore, the project covers approximately 800 metres of one of Bengaluru’s prominent Central Business District corridors. Currently under construction, the transformation is expected to be completed within the next three to four weeks.
The initiative reflects Prestige Group’s belief that building a great city extends beyond developing exceptional homes, workplaces and destinations. It is equally about investing in the streets, public spaces and civic infrastructure that improve everyday life for everyone.
Brunton Road holds special significance for Prestige Group, as it is home to the Group’s Corporate Office, Rezwan Razack’s Museum of Indian Paper Money and serves as an important gateway for customers, business partners, investors, and visitors from across India and around the world. As a company deeply rooted in Bengaluru, Prestige believes that world-class developments should be complemented by equally high-quality public infrastructure, contributing to a city experience that reflects Bengaluru’s stature as a global business and investment destination

Designed as a comprehensive streetscape enhancement, the project focuses on improving mobility, pedestrian safety, sustainability and the overall public realm.
Key features of the project include:
- Sustainable road resurfacing using plastic-modified bitumen incorporating recycled shredded plastic, improving pavement durability while promoting circular resource use.
- Continuous pedestrian walkways on both sides of the road, creating a safer and more accessible environment for pedestrians.
- Improved stormwater management through the cleaning and interconnection of existing drainage systems, enabling more efficient rainwater flow during the monsoon.
- Construction of new kerbs and apron kerbs to strengthen road edges and improve long-term infrastructure performance.
- Enhanced street lighting with additional lighting poles to improve visibility, safety and the overall streetscape experience.
Prestige Group’s Brunton Road project will improve mobility, pedestrian safety, drainage, lighting and sustainability in Bengaluru’s Central Business District.

Nirbhay Lumde, Head, ESG & Sustainability, Prestige Group, said, “Great cities are built not only through iconic buildings, but through the quality of the public spaces that connect them. This initiative brings together sustainable materials, resilient infrastructure and pedestrian-friendly design to create a streetscape that is safer, more accessible and better prepared for the future. It reflects our commitment to contributing meaningfully to Bengaluru’s urban landscape.”
Speaking on the initiative, V. Gopal, Executive Director, Projects & Planning, Prestige Group, added, “For nearly four decades, Prestige Group has contributed to Bengaluru’s growth through the developments we create. As the city continues to evolve, we believe our responsibility must also extend beyond our property boundaries. The transformation of Brunton Road reflects our commitment to creating safer, greener and more liveable public spaces that enhance the everyday experience of our city.”
The Brunton Road transformation reflects Prestige Group’s philosophy of Building Cities Beyond Buildings, recognising that responsible development is measured not only by the buildings it creates but also by the lasting value it contributes to the cities around them.
As Bengaluru continues to grow, Prestige Group remains committed to partnering with civic authorities and local communities to strengthen public infrastructure, promote sustainability and create vibrant, connected neighbourhoods for generations to come.
