Polycab India Spends Rs 44.44 Crore on CSR in FY26, Reaches 5.07 Lakh People

Polycab India’s FY26 annual report shows Rs 44.44 crore CSR spending across healthcare, education, rural development and environment, reaching 5.07 lakh people.

NEW DELHI (India CSR): Cables and wires manufacturer Polycab India Limited spent Rs 44.44 crore on corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in the financial year 2025-26, exceeding its statutory obligation of Rs 44.03 crore by Rs 41.1 lakh, according to the company’s Integrated Annual Report. The report states that the company’s CSR initiatives have collectively reached 5.07 lakh people across healthcare, education, rural development and environment programmes.

Spending and Obligation

Polycab India Limited’s CSR obligation, calculated at 2 percent of average net profit, was fixed at Rs 44.03 crore for the year. Polycab’s actual CSR spend stood at Rs 44.44 crore, the annual report shows. The company recorded a revenue of Rs 28,883.8 crore and profit after tax of Rs 2,708.4 crore during the same period. The CSR spending was carried out under four focus areas — Aarogyam (Healthcare), Shiksha aur Kaushalya Vikas (Education and Skill Development), Samruddha Gaon (Rural Development) and Prakriti Rakshak (Environmental Sustainability).

Healthcare Spending

Healthcare accounted for the largest share of CSR expenditure at Rs 21.37 crore, the report said. Mobile Medical Units operated across 48 villages, providing 41,219 OPD consultations and close to 10,000 diagnostic tests during the year, mainly in the Halol, Jambughoda and Ghoghamba talukas of Gujarat. Polycab India also donated 11 dialysis machines to charitable hospitals and a robotic machine for cancer treatment to a specialised hospital. In addition, 163 malnutrition camps were conducted for children and mothers, according to the report.

Education and Skilling

Polycab spent Rs 17.99 crore on education and skill development. During the year, Polycab India built 16 classrooms, set up 29 smart classrooms and provided sanitation facilities in government schools, including over 60 schools supported in Raigad district of Maharashtra. Under the Polycab Utkarsh programme, 16,000 electricians were trained across 8 states and 20 cities, and medical insurance was extended to over 8,000 electricians and their spouses, the report stated.

Rural Development and Environment

Rural development initiatives received Rs 1.18 crore, focused on groundwater recharge through check-dam renovation and support for over 5,400 livestock through veterinary services. Self-help groups were supported in manufacturing soaps, shampoos and paper products. For environmental sustainability, Polycab India spent Rs 2.51 crore on projects including drone-assisted seedball plantation, the Miyawaki afforestation technique and a decentralised solid waste management initiative in Halol taluka under the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Governance and Assessment

Polycab India said it uses a Designing-Implementation-Monitoring-Evaluation (DIME) framework to track CSR projects. An independent impact assessment by SoulAce Consulting found that all surveyed students in supported schools reported greater confidence in using digital devices, and 96 percent of farmers surveyed reported improvement in soil fertility linked to desilted pond soil use, the report said.

Chairman and Managing Director Inder T. Jaisinghani said Polycab India aims to influence the lives of 1 million people by 2030, according to the annual report. Polycab India also reported that women constitute 5.3 percent of senior leadership positions, against a stated target of 15 percent by 2030.
