Boosting Education and Infrastructure: PM Modi’s Ambitious Plans for Chhattisgarh’s Future

CHHATTISGARH (India CSR): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh, ushering in a wave of developmental initiatives worth over Rs 33,700 crore. A centerpiece of this visit is the dedication of 130 PM SHRI Schools across 29 districts, a groundbreaking step toward revolutionizing education in the state. Picture a young boy in a tribal village, walking into a modern classroom—smart boards sparking his imagination, books fueling his dreams, and teachers guiding his journey. This is the heart of PM Modi’s vision, blending progress with opportunity for millions in Chhattisgarh.

A Day of Impact: PM’s Chhattisgarh Agenda

The Prime Minister’s visit will center on Bilaspur, where, at around 3:30 PM, he will lay foundation stones, kick off construction, and dedicate multiple projects to the nation. These initiatives span education, power, rail, road, and housing sectors, culminating in a public address. The spotlight shines brightest on the 130 PM SHRI Schools, a flagship effort to empower Chhattisgarh’s youth with world-class education and infrastructure, setting the stage for a transformative future.

Revolutionizing Education: The PM SHRI Schools Initiative

The dedication of 130 PM SHRI Schools under the PM Schools for Rising India scheme is a game-changer for Chhattisgarh. Spanning 29 districts, these schools will become hubs of modern learning, featuring smart classrooms, advanced science labs, and well-equipped libraries. Rooted in the National Education Policy 2020, this initiative prioritizes quality education for all, especially in rural and tribal areas. Beyond bricks and mortar, these schools promise inclusive growth, bridging gaps and unlocking potential. Paired with the Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur, a tech-driven hub for monitoring educational progress, Chhattisgarh’s students are set to thrive.

Powering Progress: Energy and Infrastructure Boost

Energy self-reliance is a key pillar of the PM’s plans. In Bilaspur, he will lay the foundation for NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (1x800MW), a Rs 9,790 crore project leveraging ultra-supercritical technology for efficient, eco-friendly power. Another Rs 15,800 crore initiative, the First Super Critical Thermal Power Project (2X660MW) by CSPGCL, will further strengthen the state’s energy grid. Three POWERGRID transmission projects worth Rs 560 crore will ensure reliable electricity reaches every household, fueling industrial and domestic growth alike.

Connecting Communities: Rail and Road Upgrades

Improved connectivity will drive Chhattisgarh’s next chapter. PM Modi will launch seven railway projects spanning 108 km and dedicate three completed ones covering 111 km, totaling Rs 2,690 crore. The MEMU train service on the Abhanpur-Raipur section and full electrification of the state’s rail network will streamline travel and trade. On the roads, upgrades to NH-930 and NH-43, plus the Kondagaon-Narayanpur section of NH-130D (worth Rs 1,270 crore), will enhance access to tribal and industrial zones, fostering economic and social integration.

Cleaner Energy and Housing for All

Sustainability meets progress with the City Gas Distribution project by BPCL, spanning four districts with 200 km of pipelines and CNG outlets worth Rs 1,285 crore. The Rs 2,210 crore Visakh-Raipur Pipeline by HPCL will deliver cleaner fuel across 540 km, supporting India’s net-zero goals. Meanwhile, the Griha Pravesh of 3 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries will bring secure homes to rural families. Imagine a mother in a remote village, clutching the keys to her new house—a symbol of dignity and stability made real.

A Vision for a Thriving Chhattisgarh

PM Modi’s visit on March 30, 2025, is more than a series of inaugurations—it’s a blueprint for Chhattisgarh’s rise. The 130 PM SHRI Schools stand as a testament to his commitment to education, while projects in energy, connectivity, and housing weave a tapestry of inclusive growth. From classrooms in distant villages to power lines lighting up homes, these efforts promise to uplift lives and position Chhattisgarh as a beacon of development in India’s heartland.
