NEW DELHI: Celebrating the contributions of senior citizens, Panasonic India today at a special programme commended the work and efforts of 70 senior citizens in the Gharaunda Block. An initiative for the people over the age of 60 who have worked tirelessly in the fields of education, infrastructure, public health and gender equality with no political background.
This effort was part of a long line of activities Panasonic India is partaking within the Gharaunda Block, in order to further develop and create a culture of elderly participation, promote a community support mechanism for social initiatives and create a process of engagement between the elderly and the younger generation.
Speaking at the initiative Radhika Kalia, Associate Director Corporate Affairs & CSR at Panasonic India said, “The elderly here in India stand at the focal point of an imperative link between the age old traditional ways and the modern ones. Their experience and timely wisdom can help shape and reinvigorate many parts of the society and play a critical role in the orderly functionality and maintenance of it. They have an abundance of knowledge which can be used to enhance and further strengthen the community relations between different sections of the society”
