The year 2020 will go down as one of the years with a lasting memory with devastating effect on different industries and the world’s economy. After the pandemic struck, many businesses in India and across the world had to lock down to curtail the virus’s spread. As a result, many business owners lost a lot of money.

Interestingly, the online gambling industry in India and across the world did not face such losses. In fact, the online gambling industry saw immense growth during the just concluded year. That was because more people resorted to betting as a profitable alternative to boredom. Soon enough, the major stakeholders responded well to the enormous demand. Before the end of 2020, there was a massive increase in India’s number of Netbanking casinos.

While 2020 was eventful for the gambling industry, particularly the online section, come 2021, it expect more. It expects massive growth, even more, significant than what we saw last year. In this article, look at some of those areas where it might see substantial changes in the Indian online gambling scene.

More of Mobile Gaming

Even without seeing any stats, we can all agree that almost everyone now has a smartphone. It is also interesting to see how we have developed relationships with these devices. Every day, on average, we touch our phones about 2,617 times. Developers are now taking advantage of this to build apps to exploit the tremendous usage of our smartphones.

Gambling is not left behind, and we have already seen many mobile gambling platforms in the past years. In 2021, we expect more but with a little twist. At the moment, most casinos allow gamers to bet on their mobile website. In 2021 however, we are likely to see more casino apps that people can download to their phones and use at any time for more convenience. With these apps, punters will have full access to the casino as though they were using the website. They will be able to make payments, withdraw, and place their bets on any of their games but now faster than the websites.

More betting options

Sports betting and lottery tickets seem to be the most extensive sections of gambling in India. However, as we move forward in 2021, things are likely to change. Online casinos will be offering players more options other than the regular games they are familiar with.

Asides from blackjack, slots, poker, and roulette, there would be a massive expansion of gaming catalogs available to players in India. That way, new players can come in quickly and enjoy gambling without wasting too much time on learning new skills. The regular games would also receive updates and fixes so staunch fans can have an excellent time while they enjoy their gaming sessions.

This year, operators would most likely look out for more young players by presenting games with a lot in common with video games and mobile games.

Increased methods of payment

Since India’s gambling industry is expanding, a lot of changes will come in to accommodate new players. One of such significant changes would be the addition of new methods of payment in many casinos. Like its peers around the world, the industry will be looking at bringing in Cryptocurrencies as a valid means of transaction for gambling.

You will agree that this is coming a bit late, considering that many casinos in other countries already accept cryptocurrencies. That’s because the laws in India have not been stable concerning the use of digital currencies. However, after a long battle with the Reserve Bank of India, cryptocurrency is now allowed in India.

Since it became legal, there has been a steady rise in the number of crypto casinos in India. As we move into 2021, we expect to see even more of these casinos. Old and new casino operators would want to jump on the trend and woo punters with safe and fast transactions with crypto.

More of VR and AR Casinos

The laws of gambling in India are a bit funny compared with other parts of the world. When countries of the world make several millions of dollars in taxes from gambling, the Indian government is yet to regulate gambling fully. At the moment, there are only three states in the country where players can bet freely. However, the law allows players to gamble online without restrictions. The implication of this is that he must transport himself to any of these three states for a player to bet physically. That could be stressful and also costly, but all that is about to change.

With Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), players can play games from their rooms as though they were in a real casino. The technology brings them all of the casino experience in a way that it all looks natural. That way, players do not have to risk it all to go to the casinos, and also, they can have all the fun as though they were there.
