With its robust supply chain and a steadfast focus on community impact, the company exemplifies how businesses can play a pivotal role in large-scale events that touch millions of lives.

NEW DELHI (India CSR): In a significant contribution to the Maha Kumbh Mela, OfBusiness, India’s leading B2B commerce platform, has announced its initiative to supply approximately 700 tonnes of staples—including rice, wheat, pulses, and oil. This generous provision aims to feed 20 lakh devotees attending the spiritual gathering, showcasing the company’s commitment to supporting large-scale community events.

Ensuring Meals for Millions

The Maha Kumbh, the world’s largest spiritual congregation, is set to take place at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, from January 13, 2025, to February 26, 2025. The event is expected to draw 400 million (40 crore) visitors, including pilgrims from around the globe.

Speaking about the initiative, Pavan Kaushik, Director of Corporate Communication at OfBusiness Group, said:

“With the millions of devotees attending the Maha Kumbh daily, OfBusiness extended its participation by providing 700 tonnes of staples—rice, wheat, pulses, and oil. This should be enough to provide meals to about 20 lakh devotees during the event. As we move along, we will assess the situation and take further steps to increase the supplies. At present, there are only three food courts, which are being managed by Aaraha Hospitality.”

The Significance of Maha Kumbh

The Maha Kumbh Mela, held once every 144 years, is a rare spiritual phenomenon. Unlike the Poorna Kumbh Mela, which occurs every 12 years, the Maha Kumbh is marked by a unique celestial alignment where the Moon, Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter converge, making it an exceptionally auspicious occasion.

Millions of devotees come to the Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip, believed to cleanse them of sins and provide spiritual liberation. The event serves as a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many, fostering unity and devotion across cultures and borders.

OfBusiness’s Broader Impact

OfBusiness, known for its efficiency in B2B commerce across metals, chemicals, agri-products, and apparel, is also actively involved in community service. Through its financial services arm, Oxyzo, the company supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with working capital, fueling economic growth at the grassroots level.

Recently, OfBusiness extended its outreach with a dedicated drive to support underprivileged children. The initiative provided essentials such as books, stationery, notebooks, and clothing, empowering young minds with resources to unlock their potential.

Driving Sustainability and Community Care

The company’s efforts at the Maha Kumbh align with its broader commitment to sustainability and community welfare. By supplying staples to meet the dietary needs of millions of devotees, OfBusiness not only contributes to the event’s success but also ensures the well-being of those attending.
