BHUBANESWAR, ODISHA (India CSR): In a groundbreaking step towards redefining public transportation, the Honourable Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, launched the Odisha Yatri app on January 6, 2025. This integrated mobility platform aims to create a commuter-friendly experience while empowering drivers with a zero-commission model that guarantees full earnings without deductions. A collaborative effort between the Government of Odisha, Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC), Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), and Moving Tech (parent company of Namma Yatri), the app is now live on the ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) network.

Key Highlights of the Odisha Yatri Launch

Chief Minister’s Vision

During the launch, CM Shri Mohan Charan Majhi dedicated the Odisha Yatri app to the people of Odisha, encouraging them to use it extensively in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. He remarked:
“This is Odisha’s own ride-booking platform, connecting drivers directly with passengers. It ensures fair fares, enhanced safety, and improved livelihoods for drivers.”

Honouring Contributions and Partnerships

  • T-Shirt Presentation: The CM was presented with an honorary Odisha Yatri T-shirt by Mr. Thirumala Naik, Managing Director of CRUT, which owns and operates the app.
  • Driver Felicitation: Top-performing drivers using the platform were felicitated by the CM for their dedication and early adoption of the app. Drivers expressed their gratitude, highlighting how direct payments and zero commission would significantly improve their earnings and overall quality of life.
