HYDERABAD: Nhance CSR, a division of Nhance India Solutions, has installed and commissioned its first Solar Powered Computer ( SPC ) Lab at Saraswathi Vidya Mandir High School, Keshav Nagar, Srinagar Colony, Hyderabad on 13th August, 2014.
The initiative funded by Dr R.H.G.Rau, Chairman , Advisory Board, Nhance CSR comprised 3 nos. Lenovo All-in-one desktop computers, a ceiling fan and a tube light.
The entire SPC lab is powered by a 500Watts rooftop solar power pack back by a smart controller and a battery bank. The battery bank charged by the solar power generated will power the SPC Lab for two school working days. The All-in-one computers are highly energy efficient without a compromise in the processing speed and capacity. The systems with Windows 8.1 64 bit operating system also have a DVD W/R, wi-fi and a webcam to facilitate video conferencing.
Set up at a cost of Rs.1.50 lakhs, SPC Lab at Saraswathi Vidya Mandir High school will benefit 170 students and 16 teachers . Students at the school were thrilled at their experience with solar power generation, of which they had very little knowledge. Equally excited were the teachers who all got to actually see the solar system running the computers.
Management of the school welcomed the initiative of Nhance and said that this gesture would greatly benefit the students. Teachers also can benefit by upgrading their knowledge.
Nhance committed itself to continued association with Saraswathi Vidya Mandir High School. As a part of this initiative Nhance has commenced assessment of the teachers on their computer knowledge and proposed multiple sessions of training to the teachers during September, 2014 to improve their computer literacy and proficiency so that they can guide and train the students.
