In India, numerous young minds suffer greatly to access quality education. Albeit a few children simply do not have access to education, while others are prevented from obtaining one due to the lack of financial resources. Those fortunate enough to enrol often drop out owing to poor school infrastructural outlooks, academic curriculum or disparity in perception towards education.

SRF Foundation believes that good quality education is an instrument that lights up the path of the learner and brings a positive change on a personal and community level. With this objective, SRF Vidyalaya (Gurugram) was established in the year 2020 by SRF Foundation to provide quality education at affordable price to children from low-income families and reduce the burden of expensive school fees on the parents. SRF Ltd. and Sunrise Sports (India) Pvt. Ltd. are supporting this initiative in bringing a change in the lives of many keen learners and inspiring them to walk a better path in life and make good choices.

Situated in a clean and green campus in Sector 40, Gurugram, SRF Vidyalaya is an English medium co-educational school and follows CBSE Board pattern with spiral curriculum enriched by scholastic and non-scholastic subjects. The school is operational with Nursery to Class 3 enrolling students from the less privileged and lower income groups residing within a radius of 5 km of the catchment area. To promote holistic development of students, the school provides substantial opportunities for all the students to be involved in diverse and inspirational scholastic and co-scholastic activities. These activities help the students reach their full potential in various different fields.

As the country has been battling with one of the worst pandemics affecting mankind where sustainability is being challenged, the management and teachers of SRF Vidyalaya pledged to provide quality education backed with hands-on activities incorporating educational programs, projects and events through online classes during these challenging times.

For education to reach the students, the school contacts students through WhatsApp-based and Zoom-based classes. These online sessions are backed up by Pre-recorded Audios and Practice Worksheets based on the chapters and topics covered. The teachers compile the worksheets and prepare practice workbooks of all the subjects. Individual students are given these workbooks for practice and revision.

Parents and teachers have been working in proximity as a direct upload of the daily homework parallel to what is given as classwork keeps the parents appraised of the daily activities and helps them to enforce the same at home. The teachers ensure socio-emotional development of children through Circle Time activities. All festivals are celebrated with enthusiasm and children are encouraged to share their experiences through videos.

The promise of providing quality education can open a universe of myriad opportunities for a child. The focus of SRF Vidyalaya has been on finding and implementing new ways to connect with and keep children educated, engaged and entertained. Students are benefitting and improving academically with the sincere and guided efforts of all the teachers, and the parents are also satisfied with the outcomes.
