Ranchi: Mahindra Finance on Friday distributed 500 saplings and planted the same number of saplings in the campus of Jaipal Singh Academy at Namkum with the help of Torang Trust.
The exercise was done under corporate social responsibility of the company. All saplings were brought from Kolkata. Those who received saplings were 25 farmers who had come from different villages. The saplings included litchi, pomegranate, guava, mango, jackfruit and papaya.
Senior officer of the finance company Samiksha said pomegranate helps fight anaemia and it has been distributed as a report suggests that anaemia is prevalent among tribal women.
Those present on the occasion included CSR head of the company Ajay Tigga, former member of state commission for women Vasvi Kido, secretary of Jaipal Singh Academy Prafulla Linda.
