Twenty-four students from the district are already pursuing studies at Curtin University in Australia
MAHARASHTRA (India CSR): Lloyds Metals & Energy Limited, a metals and mining company operating in Maharashtra, has opened applications for the fourth batch of its Global Education Programme for students from Gadchiroli district to pursue higher education at Curtin University, Australia.
The programme is part of the Lloyds Infinite Foundation. It aims to support deserving students from Gadchiroli by helping them access international education opportunities.
According to the company, 24 students from Gadchiroli are already pursuing higher education at Curtin University in Australia under the programme.
Applications for the fourth batch are open from June 13 to June 20, 2026.
Students from Gadchiroli district who have secured a minimum of 60 per cent marks in Class 12 with PCM or PCMB, or in science graduation, are eligible to apply.
The company said the initiative was started to bridge the gap between rural talent and global education opportunities.
Gadchiroli has faced social and economic challenges, including the impact of Naxal insurgency. The programme seeks to create a pathway for students from the district to pursue higher education outside India.

The programme reflects a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach focused on education, youth development and community support.
For students from underserved or remote regions, international education is often limited by financial and social barriers. The initiative seeks to address this gap by supporting eligible students from Gadchiroli.
Established in 1977, Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited operates in India’s metals and mining industry. The company has operations in Chandrapur and Gadchiroli in Maharashtra.
The company is working toward a sustainable and integrated steel business. It has stated that its sustainability practices include the use of battery-operated vehicles and electric vehicle fleets for mining operations, slurry pipelines to reduce carbon emissions and renewable energy solutions.
