New Delhi: Liberty shoes, which have been fashioning footwear for well over 50 years for the style has inaugurated check dam at Neem Ka Thana in Rajasthan on 2 July. The check dam is a collaborative project of Liberty Shoes and Sanjiv Bansal Charitable Trust, which was set up in Karnal to cater to the needs of those families who have suffered the tragedy of losing their sole earning member. Inaugurated as a part of CSR, the dam will be benefiting around 10,000 locals and about 20,000 cattle fields.
Built at the Sekar area of Rajasthan, the dam will provide a range of economic, environmental, and social benefits to the people living in and around the dam.
“This is going to benefit our future generations to keep the water level always recharged, which will ultimately help in water conservation. With such dams every year there is a rise in 4 to 5 meters of the groundwater level”, said Shammi Bansal, Executive Director, Liberty Shoes.
The company has also made it an annual practice to felicitate the winners of the Republic Day Bravery Awards.
