LANJIGARH (Odisha): Vedanta and its partner companies came forwards to felicitate the local youth sprinter of Lanjigarh named Pragyan Paramita kumari with a cash prize of Rs. 1.21 Lakh. The same was organized at Lanjigarh by Lanjigarh Anchalik Vikash Parishad and Lanjigarh Yuvak Sangh.
Bimalananda Senapati –Unit head of Vedanta Limited (Lanjigarh Unit) attended as chief guest in the presence of honourable guests such as Sibaji Majhi-Ex MLA , Rajendra Prasad Singhdeo-ZP Member, Pradip Majhi- Sarapanch (Lanjigarh), Bhima Sahu-Ex Sarapanch (Malijubanga), Sridhar Pesnia-President LAVP, Binod Gouda- President Lanjigarh Yuvak Sangh, Dr Sanjay Behera-Medical Officer etc.

The young athlete has won two gold medals in recently held national level Special Olympics from 14 to 19 March 2016 at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. She belongs to a small village Kandah Juabang near Bijepur and is of age 12 years and the daughter of Lambodar Kumar.
Various representatives from partner companies such as OSL, Hoffincons, KSE Eng, GDCL, Sidhartha Construction, Chennai Radha, Precision, RCB Construction, Rajendra Mali, LAVP, and LYS attended and encouraged the youth sprinter.
This is the first kind of achievement for Kalhandi in Special Olympics. Other dignitaries such as Biraja Shankar Mud-Head Power plant, Ranjan Sharma-Head CSR, Sidhartha Behera-PR, Srimukha Agasty, Ramachandra Behera-Samiti Member (Ambadola), Gouranga Raut-Social Activist, Saraswati Munda-Ex Sarapanch, Kumti Majhi-President Niyamgiri Surakhyaa Samiti, Udaya Kumar-President Land Loser Association, Sada Naik-Social Worker, Kamraj dalbehera-Intellectual and members of various organizations.
