Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has extended his best wishes for India ESG Summit, being organised on 31 May 2022 in Mumbai at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Near Mantralaya, Nariman Point, Mumbai. He appreciated the initiative of India CSR for creating mass-level awareness of ESG-related issues.
Hon’ble Deputy CM said, “I am indeed happy to note that India CSR Network is organizing India ESG Summit on 31st May 2022 in Mumbai with the theme ‘ESG for All: Sustainability First’.”
“Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is a public issue. That’s why the importance of ESG is everywhere whether it is government or institutions. It is our responsibility to discuss all aspects of the environment with the key stakeholders of society. We all know that due to the increasing human intervention, the changes taking place in the environment are affecting everyone’s life.”, he said.
“We all have a responsibility to take concrete initiatives at our own level to protect and conserve the environment. Climate Change, saving water, stopping air pollution, minimizing the use of plastic, reducing carbon emissions, waste management, etc. are very important issues of the present time.”, he further added.
“The above topics should be discussed openly through such a forum. Such forums will help in raising public awareness in a big way.”
“Our government is working with commitment at all levels to make ESG more effective within the state. We have prepared an ambitious Mumbai Climate Action Plan to give impetus to environmental issues. This plan is especially focused on the city of Mumbai, in which we will work on reducing carbon emissions.”, he also said.
“I would like to commend the founder and editor of India CSR, Rusen Kumar, for choosing the city of Mumbai to hold a meeting on a serious topic like ESG.”
Wishing for the success of the summit Hon’ble Deputy CM said, “I send my greetings and best wishes on the occasion and hope that the India ESG Summit would be successful and shall make significant creative contributions in times to come and generate greater awareness on Climate Change and related issues.
