Domestic sales grow over 48%, supported by new models and continued demand for existing portfolio
NEW DELHI (India CSR®): Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) recorded total sales of 8,284 units in July 2026, driven by strong growth in the domestic market, the company said on Saturday. The automaker sold 6,014 vehicles in India during the month, registering growth of more than 48% compared with 4,050 units sold in July 2025. Exports stood at 2,270 units, against 3,474 units in the corresponding month last year.
Based on the figures reported by the company, its combined domestic and export sales increased by about 10% from 7,524 units in July 2025.
Domestic Momentum
Honda Cars India attributed the improved domestic performance to growing customer interest across its product portfolio. The recently introduced New Honda City and the launch of the Honda ZR-V helped strengthen demand for the brand, according to the company. The Honda Elevate and Honda Amaze also continued to support overall sales, backed by their positioning and customer response in their respective segments. Domestic sales accounted for nearly 73% of the company’s total volume during July 2026, while exports contributed approximately 27%.
Festive Outlook
Commenting on the monthly performance, Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Limited, said the more than 48% growth in domestic sales reflected the positive momentum being built across the company’s portfolio. “Our sales performance with over 48% growth in domestic sales in July’26 reflects the positive momentum we are building across our portfolio,” Behl said.
He added that the response to the New City and Honda ZR-V had strengthened customer interest, while the Elevate and Amaze continued to record robust sales. The company expects its expanded portfolio and customer-focused initiatives to help sustain momentum during the upcoming festive season.
