UDAIPUR (India CSR): Young professionals are increasingly moving from the workforce into decision-making roles at Hindustan Zinc, with 10% of the company’s leaders now under the age of 35. As India marks International Youth Day 2026, Hindustan Zinc, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and one of the world’s top ten silver producers, is spotlighting the growing role of young talent in shaping the future of one of India’s most critical core industries.

With over 62% of its workforce under the age of 35 and a 26.3% gender diversity ratio, Hindustan Zinc is building a new generation of industrial talent that is taking on responsibilities across mining, manufacturing, technology, sustainability and business leadership. The shift reflects how Gen Z and Millennials are increasingly reshaping traditionally complex sectors into more technology-led, inclusive and future-ready workplaces.

Over the last two fiscal years, the company has hired nearly 700 young professionals, including 335 campus hires in FY26 alone through its VLDP, GET, PGET, and MT programs from leading institutions across India, proudly referring to them as its #EchoesOfTomorrow, reflecting a generation that is not only preparing for the future of industry but actively participating in building it. Combining the agility of a startup with the resilience of an industry leader, Hindustan Zinc offers career opportunities ‘from A to Z’ – much like its core metals, silver (Ag) and zinc (Zn).

Mr. Amarendu Prakash, CEO, Hindustan Zinc, said, “The future of industry will be shaped by a generation that thinks differently, challenges convention and sees technology and sustainability as fundamental to how businesses grow. At Hindustan Zinc, our ambition is to give young professionals the opportunity to lead this change – with meaningful responsibilities, the freedom to innovate and the scale to create real impact. As we build a more technology-led, sustainable and diversified Hindustan Zinc, we want to nurture leaders who will not only shape the future of our company but also contribute to India’s next chapter of industrial growth.”

Gen Z & Millennials at Hindustan Zinc are contributing across the company’s high-tech operations, including remote blasting, tele-remote equipment handling, real-time monitoring systems, operational intelligence platforms, automated processes and digital control rooms. As India’s premier metals company, Hindustan Zinc remains at the forefront of fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce. The company has long prioritized initiatives aimed at breaking barriers and setting new standards by ensuring a standardized work experience powered by rapid digitalization and automation.

Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to supporting employees at every stage of life – both personally and professionally – has led to rich job content, career-enhancing and equal opportunities, including night shifts, flexible work hours and progressive workplace policies such as spouse hiring, year-long sabbaticals for childcare, and leave policies prioritising mental and physical health.

The company also promotes talent mobility, enabling employees seeking exposure to different business functions to explore roles based on their interests and aptitude. In parallel, Hindustan Zinc has institutionalised several programmes for skilling, upskilling and reskilling employees to ensure its workforce remains at the cutting edge of evolving industrial requirements. These include classroom training, mentoring and training from global experts, behavioural programmes and a wide range of practical and technical training programmes.

As India pushes toward becoming a $5 trillion economy driven by industrial resurgence, Hindustan Zinc is making a case for core sectors as meaningful career destinations. Whether in renewable energy digital mining, or circular economy practices, the company today’s youth a chance to contribute to national priorities through future-forward roles grounded in real-world impact. Through the continuity of #EchoesOfTomorrow, Hindustan Zinc reaffirms that the future of core industries lies in the hands of a young, diverse, and purpose-driven workforce – one that is already building tomorrow, today.
