BALCONAGAR: Chhattisgarh: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (Balco) organised a health camp in village Dondro, near Korba in Chhattisgarh under its project – ‘Disha Project’. 11 pregnant women were medically examined. 70 residents were treated for seasonal ailments and were distributed free medicine.
Kranti Navrange, health volunteer, Makhanlal Dadsena, supervisor, Sajan Kanvar, Anganbadi volunteer on behalf of Women and Child Welfare Dept. and Karun Kanvar gave outstanding cooperation towards organising the health camp and making it successful.
Deepa Kiran Tirki and Dipika Rathore, both from ‘Shroth’ an NGO working as an agency for the project implementation, participated actively in the project.
A glimpse about Disha Pariyojna: Balco Management started ‘Disha Project’ with the cooperation of Korba District Administration, District Women and Child Development Department, Health Department and the Education Department. The project under the purview of Community Development Programme has the objective of strengthening the issues of health and nutrition standards in Village Dondro and creating awareness among women, children and the youth through training programmes. Children from birth to 6 years are being benefitted for their overall development through ‘Disha Project’.
