New Delhi – Grasim Industries Ltd served over 6500 women through mother and child healthcare project, in collaboration with the District Health Department.
The project broadly focuses on antenatal, post-natal care, mass immunisation, nutrition and escort services for institutional delivery.
Over 87,000 children were immunised against polio, BCG, DPT and Hepatitis-B across the company’s Units.
The company spent Rs 5.24 lakh on reproductive and child health in FY19 under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The teams of company also examined over 4500 students on their dental hygiene and treatment.
The reproductive and child health programme covered the areas of Bharuch, Surat & Gir Somnath in Gujarat, Ujjain, Bhind in Madhya Pradesh, Ganjam in Orissa, Hoogly in West Bengal, Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and Haveri in Karnataka.
CSR and community initiatives of the company, forms an integral part of the sustainability efforts.
The Group’s footprint straddles across 5,000 villages globally, reaching out to 75 lakh people annually.
Furthermore, the CSR Committee comprises of Rajashree Birla as Chairperson, Shailendra K. Jain as Director, B. V. Bhargava as Independent Director, Dilip Gaur as Managing Director, Pragnya Ram as Group Executive President-CSR.
