Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar B. Khandre Calls for Stronger CSR Action to Protect Western Ghats and Promote Sustainability
BENGALURU (India CSR): The curtain raiser of the FKCCI Global CSR & Sustainability Summit 2026 was successfully held at Vikas Soudha, Bengaluru, marking an important step toward strengthening the role of industry in sustainability and responsible corporate action.
The programme was organized by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and brought together industry leaders, CSR professionals, policymakers, and FKCCI members to discuss the future of sustainable development and corporate responsibility.

Eshwar Khandre Highlights CSR’s Role in Environmental Protection
Eshwar B. Khandre, Hon’ble Minister for Forest, Ecology & Environment, Government of Karnataka, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister emphasized the growing importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in protecting the environment and supporting sustainable development. He said industries must go beyond compliance and actively contribute to ecological conservation.
He particularly highlighted the environmental importance of the Western Ghats, one of India’s most significant ecological regions. He called upon industries and institutions to play a proactive role in preserving this natural heritage for future generations.
Summit Logo, Brochure and Website Launched
A major highlight of the curtain raiser was the official launch of the Summit’s logo, brochure, and website. The launch marked the formal beginning of preparations for the FKCCI Global CSR & Sustainability Summit 2026.
The summit is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing on CSR, ESG, climate action, environmental stewardship, and inclusive development.
FKCCI Announces Plantation of 10,000 Saplings
During the programme, FKCCI also announced a major green initiative to plant and nurture 10,000 saplings in collaboration with the Forest Department.
The initiative reflects FKCCI’s commitment to sustainability and its larger vision of encouraging industries to adopt environment-friendly practices. The sapling plantation drive is expected to contribute to green cover expansion and climate resilience.
Industry Leaders Share Insights
The programme featured insightful remarks from Uma Reddy, Keerthan Kumar K, and Nav Kishlay, who spoke on the importance of CSR-led sustainability, industry participation, and collaborative action.
The event was attended by B. P. Shasidhar, Past Presidents of FKCCI, Managing Committee Members, and distinguished industry leaders.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. T. Sairam Prasad, Senior Vice President, FKCCI. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, FKCCI leadership, members, and industry representatives for their participation and support.
