NEW DELHI (India CSR): Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL), one of India’s leading agrochemical companies, has reaffirmed its commitment to responsible and sustainable growth through measurable progress across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions in FY 2024–25.
Anchored in its purpose of “Growing with Purpose,” IIL has integrated sustainability into every aspect of its operations, from improving energy efficiency and promoting renewable use to fostering an inclusive workforce and maintaining strong governance standards.

On the environmental front, the company implemented a range of measures across its manufacturing facilities, including biomass substitution at the Chopanki unit, optimization of the Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) system at Dahej, and cooling tower upgrades to reduce energy use and emissions. These initiatives helped achieve total energy consumption of 22,41,065 GJ, with Scope 1 emissions at 14,658 tCO₂e and Scope 2 emissions at 15,354 tCO₂e. IIL also enhanced biodiversity through a 4,000-plant mini forest (in partnership with RIICO) and expanded green cover to over 30% of its operational areas, while implementing 818 hectares of water recharge structures in Rajasthan.

The company delivered 4,800 hours of training focused on safety, compliance, and leadership development. It also launched ‘IIL Growsmart’, a multilingual, digital learning platform featuring 15 interactive courses across regional languages to boost employee upskilling and product knowledge.
Furthering its community engagement, IIL invested Rs. 2.52 crore in rural development programs, supporting education, sanitation, clean water, and healthcare initiatives. Collaborations with agricultural universities, NGOs, and rural schools continued to strengthen farmer knowledge and community well-being.

In the governance domain, IIL upheld strong ethical and transparent practices with a Board comprising 50% independent directors, including two women directors. A robust policy framework, encompassing the Business Responsibility Policy, Code of Conduct, and Business Partner Code, ensures ethical operations and compliance across the value chain.
