Hyderabad: SBH, LIC along with Ekjaa Foundation and Sangamithra Association sponsored first mega cultural show for differently abled people in Hyderabad organized by Viklangula Kala Vedika.
The show encouraged people who are differently abled to showcase their talents. The orchestra was played and songs were sung by visually and physically challenged people. It gave them a platform to display their hidden talent and an opportunity to show that they are on par with the rest of the society. The Telgu version of United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability (UNCRPD) supported by dis Ability RIGHTS Fund from Tides Foundation-USA and CADRE was also released during the event.
The show was followed with felicitating eminent and renowned people who inspite of their difference from the society achieved tremendous success in their fields by the chief guests.
Some of the Cheif guests were Dr. S. Kumara Devi, Dy. Director, Disabled Welfare; Mr. Koteswar Rao former Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Vikalangula Cooperative Corporation who announced that the newly established Vikalangula Kala Vedika will take care of the recreational needs of the differently abled in AP; Smt. Harsha Mukherjee Founder of Ekjaa was highly inspired and appreciated the show thereby announcing to give these special people an opportunity to show their talent to young people and reach wider audience which would motivate millions; Smt. S. Shobha Rani renowned High Court Advocate and compassionate to differently abled was moved with tears and expressed her solidarity towards the Disabled as well as the organization.
The main architect of this event Mr. Sunil Babu explained in details about the aims and objectives of the organization.
(1) Identifying the differently abled artists and work for their development.
(2) Platform would be provided to the differently abled to showcase their inner talents organization.
(3) He appealed to the society to extend support to strengthening the organization.
(4) And he also announced the series of that programmes will be organized in near future to encourage more differently abled artists.
Mr. Gangadhar Rao, V. Muralidhar, Mr. Hari Babu of Cadre were among other organizers of the show.
