Adani Group issued an official statement putting to rest rumours that Priti Adani, wife of Chairman Gautam Adani, is being considered for a Rajya Sabha nomination from Andhra Pradesh
The Adani Group said neither Gautam Adani nor Priti Adani or any of the members of the Adani clan has any kind of interest in joining politics.
The statement was issued in response to news articles claiming that Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani or his wife Priti Adani might be nominated to Rajya Sabha.
The statement further added that such rumours surface every time Rajya Sabha falls vacant.
“We are aware of news reports claiming that Gautam Adani or Dr Priti Adani is given a Rajya Sabha seat. These are blatantly false reports that appear whenever Rajya Sabha seats fall vacant. It is unfortunate to see vested interests dragging our name into such speculative media reports. Neither Mr. Gautam Adani or Dr. Priti Adani nor any member of the Adani family has interest in a political career or in joining any political group,” an official statement from Adani Group read.

It was reported that intense lobbying is currently underway for 4 Rajya Sabha seats will fall vacant from Andhra Pradesh in June. Rajya Sabha members V Vijayasai Reddy, TG Venkatesh, YS Chowdary and Suresh Prabhu are set to retire on June 21.
The names of Adanis featured in a list of six frontrunners for the seat in media reports. It was also Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy may consider if Adanis make a request for the same.
