NEW DELHI (India CSR): Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL), a leading infrastructure company in India, reported CSR spending of Rs 3.36 crore in the financial year 2024–25. While the company is widely known for building highways and large infrastructure projects, its annual report shows a parallel effort to support communities through structured social programs.

In many regions where DBL operates, access to education, cultural resources, and livelihood opportunities remains limited. According to Dilip Buildcon’s annual report, its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aim to address these gaps by focusing on local needs and community development.

The report highlights that Dilip Buildcon’s programs reached over 30 lakh people across different parts of India, reflecting a wide social footprint despite a relatively modest CSR budget.

CSR Spending in FY2025: Meeting and Slightly Exceeding Targets

According to Dilip Buildcon’s annual report, Dilip Buildcon had a CSR obligation of Rs 3.35 crore for FY2024–25, based on its average net profits over the previous three financial years.

Dilip Buildcon reported a total standalone CSR spending of Rs 3.36 crore during the year, slightly exceeding its mandatory requirement. This includes an excess spend of around Rs 0.86 lakh, which can be carried forward for adjustment in future years.

The report also highlights that on a consolidated basis, including group entities, the total CSR expenditure reached Rs 6.09 crore.

The CSR spending was implemented through approved projects aligned with Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013. Dilip Buildcon’s CSR Committee monitored the planning and execution of these initiatives throughout the year.

Focus Areas of CSR Programs

Dilip Buildcon’s CSR strategy in 2025 focused on a few key areas rather than spreading resources too thin. According to the annual report, the main areas included:

  • Promotion of education and vocational training
  • Preservation of culture and heritage
  • Support for sports and physical development
  • Community development in rural and underserved regions

The report highlights that these areas were selected based on local needs where the company operates, ensuring that the initiatives deliver practical benefits.

Education and Skill Development Initiatives

Education remained an important focus area for Dilip Buildcon’s CSR programs.

According to the annual report, DBL supported initiatives that promote basic education as well as skill development for youth and women. These programs aim to improve learning opportunities and increase employability in rural areas.

The report states that vocational training programs were conducted to help individuals learn practical skills. These include trades and services that can generate income and improve financial stability.

According to Dilip Buildcon’s annual report, several projects were implemented in states such as Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.

These initiatives included the restoration and maintenance of historical sites, cultural spaces, and public libraries.

The report highlights that these efforts benefited over 2 lakh people, particularly from vulnerable communities.

Dilip Buildcon also supported cultural activities during large public events such as the Mahakumbh, where it helped provide facilities for visitors.

Dilip Buildcon also promoted inclusive sports activities, including events for differently abled individuals.

The report highlights initiatives such as sports competitions for visually impaired children and winter games for differently abled participants.

These programs benefited around 2,927 individuals, helping promote physical activity, confidence, and inclusion.

Targeted Development in Aspirational Districts

Dilip Buildcon aligned some of its CSR spending with government priorities by focusing on aspirational districts.

According to the annual report, Dilip Buildcon allocated Rs 10 lakh for development activities in Korba district, Chhattisgarh.

These funds were used for projects aimed at improving local conditions and addressing specific community needs.

The report highlights that such targeted investments help ensure that even remote and underdeveloped areas receive attention.

Environmental and Sustainability Efforts

Although the CSR budget was limited, Dilip Buildcon also integrated environmental sustainability into its operations.

According to the annual report, Dilip Buildcon generated around 9.89 lakh kWh of solar power during the year, supporting renewable energy use.

Dilip Buildcon also implemented its “Geo Green” initiative, which focuses on planting trees and grass along highways and project sites.
